That last comment is ignorant. Hard work intensity and because my family came in through New York and not Mexico doesn't make Henry anyless an American. If I was in Mexico I would carry my family as his mother did to a better chance at life. The same reason most families left Europe. Wow what a dumb ass. Henry the whole wrestling nation is proud of you and how tough your family is. A special shout to your Mom! She sounds tough!

I agree with Matt R. why do we mess around with folkstyle? We should just

concentrate on freestlye and Greco-roman. Henry congratulations on your
accomplishments.

way to go henry. it was amazing to watch.

doubting thomas makes a great point - why do we mess around with folkstyle? henry is the perfect example of what the u.s. needs to do to be more competitive on the international level. i feel awful for askren but his "funk" background was not much help in the olympics. get rid of the useless folkstyle.

Henry, you have been an inspiration to us all as part of the wrestling community and most of all as AMERICANS. After seeing the way you train it's no wonder why you're sporting that gold around your neck. I tell my kids "you see it can happen if you work hard and put your heart into it." I always point out to them what you put on their shirt in Castle Rock back in July. "TRAIN HARD OR GO HOME"

Hey ALL THOSE POEPLE OUT THERE THAT WERE TALKING DOWN HENRY AT THE TRAILS. DO YOU LIKE APPLES????

HENRY GOT THE GOLD!!
HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Congratulations Henry you have made everyone back home proud. Most of all you have released the pressure of the poeple that said you couldn't do it. Your hard work paid off ten fold. This is what we want to teach our children. That no matter what kind of pressure society puts on you, success can still be obtained though hard work and dedication!

Think About It   August 20, 2008 at 11:53am
I would like to preface this statement with I think flowrestling is the best thing since slice bread for the sport. With that said do you realize this is the first time we have Cejudo on here besides practicing. No shopping, no interviews, no blogs, no trips to the great wall. All business until the job is done. Sure it is the 21st century but guys like John Smith, Dan Gable, Tom Brands, etc. don't care about anything except winning. We will see what happens with Silent H and Cormier but all you have seen from Mocco is him killing himself as well. I would love to eat some crow tomorrow and see Andy or Daniel win the gold.

Why would he go back to Iowa? So he can be like Mike Za and Doug Schwab? What did they score 1 pt. between them in 4 matches? He's the future of the sport because he's a dedicated freestyler like the Russians, not some dull, grind it out folkstyler.

Regarding the question about Henry goin to Iowa to wrestle, that would be something. Frankly, based on all the media about his tough upbringing in tough neighborhoods, difficult family life, father in and out of prison, etc. Henry should go to Iowa to first and foremost receive a college education and then to wrestle. Unfortunately, as many former Olympians discover, this period of his life is great, few responsibilties, train all day but as the years go by and the crowds die down, his education will carry him for a lifetime. Here's hoping Henry does the right thing now, enjoys this glorious moment, and gets a college degree.
