The reason the USA may not always have the success on the international level is because for the first 10 years of wreslting they wrestle folkstyle and do not learn or train exclusively on freestyle or Greco. If the highschools or the NCAA chooses to emphasize frestyle or greco, then international success would be much more common. It has nothing to do with USA training, or ignorance.
good point. IMO they should have something like greco in the fall, folkstyle in the winter, and freestyle in the sprint or something. or you could have them all in the sprint all at the same time, just different tournaments for different weekends. you could face the same school 3 times in all 3 styles. that would be sick, our success internationally would be insane, because it'll be a scholastic and collegiate sport.

It is not always good to go 100 percent. this practice was close to an olympic trial qualifier and relatively close to the trials. It is good to back off near the end. Plus dude please dont challenge terry brand's coaching. He is the man!!!

I'm sorry but isn't this Olympic level training. Why is it that only the heavy weight guys were the ones truly challenging their opponent during practice. I would think that as a good training partner you would make your fellow wrestler work as hard as possible. These are all expert level athletes, not high schoolers working on their technique.

the only way he can win is if he learns how to do a dragon ball z kamehameha technique at his opponents. or if he can to do the touch of death or something like that.

i wont tell u about the bad technique because i dont want to help america get better because americans dont give credit to the people that help them. american just uses people and throws them in the trash like the native americans. all i want to say is that russia reigns supreme and nobody from america will medal in the top three this year in freestyle.

ll= lucha libre. not ii. and i not say that the iowa training style is unsuccessfull to win an american ncaa title. but i say that the iowa/traditional american style of wrestling fails to bring home olympic gold medals compared to countries like russia. this practice is proof on how united states lacks the intelligence on the elite wrestling world.

this coach is retarded. he is trying make these guys into gladiators not wrestlers. maybee he became a world champion because the iowa training style corresponded with his syle of wrestling/body talent. but not all wrestlers are physical and so basic. the best wrestlers in history were the best because of technique. United States is so stubborn in their ways. instead of opening their eyes to different options in training they continue to say "we are #1 and our iowa style of training is the best"

i look and compare this training video with the saitiev training video: quite the opposite. here we have coaches getting wrestlers "hyped". in the saitiev wrestling videos, you see the wrestlers laughing and smiling as they drill. as has been said, the russians simply dance while they train. so much more relaxed and precise.
