"My name is Mike, and if you study with my eight week program, you will learn a system of wrestling that I developed over four seasons of wrestling in Division I. It's called SHAMROCK WRESTLING." "Grab my arm. The other arm. MY other arm. You're being a scarecrow. Don't be a scarecrow; grab my elbows. Okay, now watch this. I'm just gonna break the wrist and walk away. Break the wrist, walk away." "Now in addition to what you just saw, if you study with my eight week program, you're gonna learn these things. First off, Shamrock Wrestling, we use the buddy system; no more flying solo. You need somebody watching your back for ringworm AT ALL TIMES. Second off, you're gonna learn to discipline your image. Do you think I got where I am today because I dress like Peter Pan here? Take a look at what I'm wearing people (pulling on Bring It T-shirt); you think anybody wants my elbow to the chest when I'm wearing this bad boy? Forget about it." Seriously, though, the guy seems to do a great job teaching the kids and keeping their attention. reply

His youth clinics should be viewed by alot of us working with youth, not only coaches. As a parent, I'm really impressed and am taking something from this for my work with my own children. reply

Mike Krause, regarded as one of the best youth coaches in the country, connects with wrestlers at the Cliff Keen Tulsa Kick Off Classic. Currently he is the Coach of Team Shamrock the feeder program to Detroit Catholic Central. He is a 2x defending youth state champ coach. In this video Mike Krause emphasizes that wrestling is a sport of position. If you can keep a strong position by being able to hand fight then you will be learning a foundation of technique that you need to know on the next level.
