He just couldn't stop his leg attacks. And that was a weak unsportsmanlike conduct call in the 2nd.

Well the Metcalf/Schlatter match didn't happen as Schlatter is still nursing an injury. Can't wait till the Big 10 tourny, hope Schlater's healthy for that. And how about unranked Marsh (U of M) upsetting #1 Poeta (Ill)9-6 good match!

He has been an Iowa style wrestler all his life, I'm glad he ended up there. It's a real shame he had to give up a year along with Slaton and the other guys, I feel bad for them

Yeah I have followed Brent's career for awhile. Both the Metcalf vs Shlatter matches are on the internet and are very good matches. The loss of Chase was tragic. Just around that time he was doing some work with youth wrestling in MI where my brother trains. I hope to see more great matches from Brent this year. Hell of a guy to watch.

I've been watching Brent and his late brother Chase sence they were little guys.
My son wrestled on the same youth team. Brent has done nothing but get better by leaps and bounds every year, Believe me he is the real deal. I hope Schlatter will be healthy for the duel but they should meet in the Big 10 tourny and ncaa hopefully. It took 3 years for them to finally meet in HS and they split 1 pt maches with Schlatter winning Sr. Nationals

Grizzzz55 you are right on. How can you pin a guy if his shoulders are on your chest? Yeah and Metcalf did beat up on Lang. That was a big win for him and I think it really opened some eyes for the doubters out there. Lets hope Schlatter is well so the matchup can happen.

I agree VanHammer, I watched the video over and over and you can see it best when the ref calls the pin and they separate, Brent's back was on his chest all the way down to his kidneys. Hey and how about that 12-3 major over Lang last night, Lang couldn't score on him, Brent took him to take down school!!!

tiger_x just because someone said on a forum that it was a pin doesn't mean its true. Neither of Metcalf's shoulders were touching the mat. It was clearly not a pin. If that was all you needed to do to pin someone pins would be much easier to get.

yeah, i didn't think it was a pin either until i over-read someone discussing that people don't understand that for a pin the area that needs to be touching the mat is larger than what everyone thinks. watching the pin again now, it was legit.

Darrion is a good wrestler but most of the top guys got his number, he is becoming too predictable and needs more in his arsenal. Spladdels don't work on everyone.

I've watched Metcalf sence he was 7 years old and have never seen anyone so focused in my life accept for maybe Donaho. These kids never quit. AND the Darrion pin was a joke, Metcalf's whole back was on Darrion's chest. Must have been a NC ref.

Schlatter-Metcalf would be the best, just because i think Schlatter can go hard a whole 7 min and keep up with Metcalf's tempo better than anyone else

I think a Metcalf Lang match would be great action for a short time. Eventually, as I've seen before Metcalf tends to break down the stretch. I think Metcalf's conditioning would be too much for him. I think that Metcalf Schlatter would be a much better match with Metcalf having to use much better shot selection to be effective.
