im gonna put my money on metcalf as being the next great of all time he was already a workaholic now theres not even a word for it but hes gonna come back next year and stronger than ever i think the loss to dc is going to make him better in the longrun look at when gable got beat in the ncaa finals he ended up being the best brent is the next on the way

Palmer is an up and rising star i wrestle with his younger brother colin and hes up and rising to alot of good wrestlers are to come Brent is a great wrestler but look at comparing him to Dan and Cael who most resembles them id say Lance he is Goin to be the best again very soon!

this kid is a fine wrestler and probably a future olympian,but i gotta go for Palmer in this one. He can be beat!

Well, there are some people who have one thing in life and they want to be truly great at that one thing. I'm a little more well-rounded than that, like many people, but I respect the few who are like Metcalf in their own fields. As much as I love wrestling, I never had the talent or drive for it like the guys on this site. But I practiced guitar for 8-9 hours a day over a two year period, and while I had no other life it allowed me to get to a very high level in my art. If there's something that you really live for, you may only have a small window of opportunity to go for it. Any why not? Anyway, best of luck to Brent. You're only young once and he's making the most of it.

but winning is fun it feels awsome to win and when you feel you can do better that doesnt mean that your not having fun it just means that you want more and thats how Iowa wrestling is they are always going to want more until they get it all they will never be satisfied

Always been a huge fan of the kid, but is he really a good image for our sport. Have some fun out there kid, this "never satisfied" Iowa mentality is getting us away from what our sport is made for and that is for having fun and ejoying competing. Brent metcalf needs to get a life and have some fun in his life, jeez. I almost feel bad for the kid how seriously he takes this whole thing.
