Got Questions? email
Sorry man!
Good stuff none the less.
All of the tools you mention below are valuable. Knowing how to use them is one thing. Knowing how to use them well is another thing altogether (from a marketers point of view). With Riot we have a system so that when you have a new person doing this each year (and you can with Riot) it is seamless. It doesn't matter if it's old media or new, it's about managing systems (not people) to make these tools work well.
Q & A is a good idea.
Had I not have been in the field my son's HS team would have had nothing to put out there as a media outlet besides the local paper. It was amazing the following we had with a website and some news updates and posted results from each week. Sites like you tube, Flo, Facebook, Twitter, constant contact, Flikr ect do offer these great avenues to get the word out and create the interest but sometimes technology is that hurdle. Marketing 101 is knowing your target market which are the booster club, parents and fans. Then reaching out to the alumni as mentioned and beyond to the local community I think is key as well. But through what means, how do you collect those emails to begin with and I think that's where you begin with non technical creativity. Having that initial alumni golf outing or throwback alumni night at a home dual and start collecting ALL that fan data that will eventually become your market list then you have something that drives your marketing machine.
Me personally since my son graduated and I've tried to make sure someone behind me that was someone tech savvy could keep the train going with email updates forum updates, web updates, blog posts ect because believe it or not a lot more , aunts uncles, moms dads and students read and watched a lot more of the stuff I posted than I thought. Not to mention the exposure you give your team plus your wrestlers take more pride in the hard work they put in.
Maybe do some type of LIVE Flo or Riot video Q and A one night and have anyone tune in and ask a panel of Riot and or marketers questions about certain ways or ideas to market.
Just and idea, I'm game.
One of the positions was "director of marketing" or something like that.
This is the kind of guy USAW should be interested in.
