#10	Dean December 5, 2009 at 5:26pm Wrestled for Coach Russo from 1976-1978. He was an excellent wrestler, coach and technician. We did well in the League, but were never competitive beyond that...which in retrospect was probably a function of life at Columbia (particularly during that era), and not Coach Russo. reply

I heard he's still coaching somewhere.” He is coaching at Kalamazoo Central a high school in southwest Michigan. He moved here with his wife and took on the school as a floundering wrestling team needed a lift. They are starting to turn the corner but still fighting the battle of being a primarily basketball school. reply

Matt Valenti is wearing a new kind of blue since he left penn and now is at conference rival Columbia. In this episode Matt goes into his and Columbia's expectations and his first national title. In the 2006 National Championship Matt Valenti rolled to the NCAA finals only to face an opponent, Fleeger, who had defeated him earlier in the year 15-5.

In his 2007 championship match he faced Coleman Scott of Oklahoma State. He fell behind early losing the first takedown, but came back reversing Coleman Scott and ending up winning the match for his second national title.
