#10	Chris June 8 at 4:31pm Does not look like the Bill Horrigan I knew at GHS in 1980. Possibly aged. I think he was embellishing. High school for us in those days was three years, 10, 11, &12;. Though 9th grade was considered high school we were still at junior high and the teams there did not wrestle varsity. Greg Elinsky did not wrestle at Eds until the 1980s as he was runner up at the NCAAs in 1986/1987. So, he would have been too young to wrestle the non-existent Ironman. Bill was a competitive wrestler in HS, but I don't think he ever went to states. reply

#6	Anonymous Coward December 5, 2008 at 9:01am Wonder if someone in Ohio wrestling circles can figure out what the prelude tournament to Ironman was called. Maybe there is some kind of connection to the current day Ironman. Come on Ohio folks. reply

Hope that he enjoys looking at the site and maybe even gives us feedback from his perspective. Thanks to him for getting Joe to the matches. reply

When I got on the plane to Cleveland, the man next to me offered me a mounds bar which I gladly accepted. We began talking and when I told him I was covering a wrestling tournament he said, "it's not the Ironman is it." Turns out he was a wrestler and we talked for a while before I fell asleep. When we arrived I learned that I had no ride from the airport so he hauled me to a place where I could meet Billy Barger.
