- See Less -Joe Heskett wasn?t born in the most ideal situations but he has always been able to make the most with what he has got. As a child his parents weren?t around but his grandmother took care of him.
When he was eight years old or so some neighborhood kids took Joe under their wing and brought him to a wrestling practice at the YMCA. There he instantly had fun and success with wrestling. Joe was a natural athlete and it showed in high school as he participated in sports all year round. But wrestling was the sport that really grabbed him.
He became a 3x state champ in Ohio and went on to attend Iowa State under Bobby Douglas. Joe Heskett instantly had success and was an all American his freshman year. The next two years Joe went to the national tournament with the national title in his reach but fell short each time and had to settle for second. His senior year he put himself in the championship again, but this time won it.
Currently Joe is an assistant coach at Ohio State and is training for the 2008 Olympics
