- See Less -Franklin Gomez was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Puerto Rico at a young age after his father passed away. When he was in his early teens he started wrestling freestyle and quickly adapted to the sport. He then decided to move to the USA and try and wrestle in New Jersey, his success was limited and he went back to Puerto Rico. After going back to Puerto Rico he then went to Brandon, Florida where he was a state champion and Puerto Rico's first Junior National Freestyle Champion. Franklin then took his talents to East Lancing, Michigan to Michigan State. So far Franklin has won the Big Ten and placed third in the country with limited folkstyle experience.
