The only reason Escobedo was even in the finals was becasue Nickerson did not compete last year. To say a kid who was in the finals as a freshmen and took 3rd as a soph. after a bogus stall call against Donahoe doesn't have a shot at the title is crazy. There is a reason why he's ranked #1. I think any of the top three in this weight has a shot. Nickerson 1, Donahoe2, Escobedo3. Write it down boys, write it down.

Escobedo is going to have to take Nickerson down to win. Troy can get out from Escobedo on bottom, and can ride him as well. Thats how Troy beat him twice at NCAAS two years ago. If the match is going to be decided on the mat, I pick Nickerson.

Possible donahoe and Precin in the semfinals should be interesting. Donahoe hasn't been pressed since NCAAS last year.

donahoe's just been around the top for a while and knows how to get it done.

1. Donahoe
2. Escabado
3. Nickerson

i feel that people underestimate nickersons versatility and his poise in big situations...he was a finalist as a true freshaman...he has a very adaptable style and can scrable when he needs to but is a very solid position wrestler

escobedo hasnt been wrestling very tough lately. i like donahoe to win the nationals and tyler clark as a dark horse champ.

I would bet that if Nickerson slows down Escobedo, being defensive and keep the score close by one or two points going into the third he could have a great shot beeting him!
