Remember Massa is only a freshman. Hasn't even wrestled a match in high school yet.

How is he rated? He took 2nd at Super 32. Pretty big deal. Plus he was a double champion at Fargo. Also a pretty big deal. Alton is just one tough dude and on another level.

How is Massa rated? Never scored an offensive point. Alton was never in any danger, didn't even look like he was working too hard.

"pnked" "owned" "pwned" pick your word, that was a blowout for a finals match.

Sure Massa lost here. But to me, he's clearly younger and smaller. This match can only help him. He's still a stud freshman but Alton is the #1 140 lb in the nation.

You also have to remember who is around him also. Jackson Morse, Jordan Thomas and Taylor Massa are all around each other's weight 140-145, they all wrestle in the same division, D2, and their schools are seperated by less then 50 miles between them all. These kids will meet sometime in their careers (Thomas and Massa-Freshman, Morse-Junior). They likelyhood of Thomas and Massa going undefeated is unlikey due to the competition right in their backyard, competition that neither Simmons nor Metcalf had to face at an early age.

This doesn't show you the potential for a 4 time state champ? He took 2nd at the super 32 as a freshman. He lost in the finals to the top guys in the nation. I say good job.

He probably will be a 4 timer. You gotta remember who he's wrestling, Alton, top guy in the nation, not in MI.
Alton likely has 4 to 5 years on him and looks like at least 20 pounds.

No way will Palmer wrestle against Alton at Ironman. He ducks every challenge with a sudden short-term injury. No Fargo, no NHSCA last year, no dual with Skonieczny, no Super 32 once Alton entered. It's pathetic really, he's so afraid to lose he's basically quit wrestling except when it's guaranteed there is not going to be anyone to challenge him. Couple that with a poor work ethic and you have the recipe for a collegiate flop.

It would have been interesting to see Collin Palmer vs Alton. Maybe at the Ironman?
