my prediction was spot on......i watched every 285 pound match at NCAA's....i wasnt impressed with one match but rather a few splurges of actual wrestling from time to time....

so much for your prediction..

i see one kid that could have been good had he taken the sport seriously and i see one giant ogre that clearly doesnt know much about wrestling. he is simply the product of some down times at the collegiate 285 pound level. big and strong with no skill managed to win this match. put either one of these kids against a good scorer and they havent a prayer.

there is no doubt that there are better heavyweights out there, and that there has been tougher years for he heavyweight field, but i still feel you are unfairly judging them on certain things you may not be correct about. you should support rather then negatively criticize.

the field is disgusting. i have never wrestler porter and he's def. an ox. i have wrestled zach in high school and college. i assure you he did not fair well. if he took wrestling and diet seriously, he would be so so much better. i wrestled for the big ten on scholarship and i was indeed a pa state champion on top of earning all-state honors two times prior. i was injured and that was the end of that. if you know anything about college heaveyweights and what good ones look like you'd be comparing these wrestlers to people like pat cummins, tommy rowlands, leonce crump, steve mocco, greg wagner, cole konrad, stephen neal, etc.....

i think it is an unfair thing to say that the pitt kid is uncommitted and also that the heavyweight class is "disgusting". i would seriously love to see you step onto the mat with any of these national ranked beasts and see how well you fair. do not make a judgement call on something you have absolutely no way to prove, nor do you have any right to say that they are anything but talented wrestlers. what have you done with the sport? are you an olympic champion? ncaa champ? state champ? if not then just shut the hell up. you complain too much

neither one of these kids deserve to be AA......the 285 field is disgusting this year except for maybe one or two kids......if sheafer was actually commited to college wrestling he wouldnt be so fat and sloppy without change since his freshman year....that belly is disgusting. porter is a beast but he's in no way, shape or from a very good wrestler. he's nothing but strength and length...i kept waiting to see an actual wrestling move and was denied....wow!!!!!

agreed on the football thing. has porter faced any other top heavyweights this year besides sheafer? the other top folks i've watched, IMO, appeared to be more athletic than porter.

I wish Porter would have just gotten after it and gotten something going on his feet. He looked like a sleeping giant who never woke up...

matt- porter IS that talented he just tends to take "breaks" in matches and gets lazy in his stance, when he realizes he can score whenevr he wants n comes with that swag hes unbeatable, yes unbeatable. your lookin at a guy that should n would be AA d1 football as well.

the pitt guy was MAN HANDLED ... we acted like a punk when he got down in the score ... funny thing is he's not tough enough to act like that to big daddy!

oh come on. that was not a cheap shot by sheafer. it's called a head tap. it's not like he hauled off and whacked porter or was even overly agressive with the head stuff. sheafer will beat him if they meet at ncaa's. porter is not that talented. he's just a huge dude.

I think Zac is a racist. What did Zac have on is thumb seemed to really piss him off. When they wrestle again it should be interesting!
