Rich was a late bloomer as a wrestler and in his collegiate senior year, in 1968, he took fourth in the nation. Asked if he wanted take over as a head coach for Penn State Rich declined until one AD really challenged him. Lorenzo took over the program and coached from the 1979 season through 1992. In that 14 year span he coached 53 All-Americans and 5 national champions. His teams placed in the Top 10 for 11 years and they were in the top 3 for three of those years. |
