anyone who has watched peppelman knows he scores early and then sits on his knee or plays with his headgear till the match is over. I don't see much riding poweer out of him. I'm not saying the Blair kid was much better but the match and many of Peppelman's other matches are just plain boring. Don't think this style will go far in college. Like to see his attitude when he loses. Saw it at Fargo two years ago when Kalvin York destroyed him in freestyle. He ran off the stage.

i kinda agree with the importance intensity, if you are a very intense wrestler with a tremendous pace no one will be able to keep up with you. that alone can win alot of tough matchs

Anonymous Coward, you are a complete idiot! Every one of your posts on this website display complete ignorance of this sport! How did Brent Metcalf's intensity treat him this year in the NCAA finals? When you get to the finals of a big tournament, which surely you haven't, it is about positioning. It is hard to score on great wrestlers because they have great positioning. Watch some more videos, learn something about the sport, then shoot your mouth off. At least then you won't come off like an idiot!

You guys are nuts...of course when you have two good wrestlers the match gets tight...even in the Olympics...and those are the best in the world. Watch Peppelman's matches against just normally good wrestlers...complete wreckage.

these guys (especially peppelman) could learn a lesson from brent metcalf... intensity! intensity is an necessity in the sport of wrestling and someone needs to teach these guys that. i don't care if its tow good wrestlers going at it. Wrestlers dont train for hours everyday for months on end to wrestle like that

Since when did it take an entire period to call stalling on a wrestler who just sits on his knee? Sitting on his knee not making any attempt to move forward isn't wrestling, its being OK with the thirty seconds of wrestling that happened at the beginning of the match.

OPEN UP!!! Nothing is more boring and worse than scoring a takedown and then NOTHING. Both guys have offense so there is no excuse.

Blair : Best ever "assembled" high school class. Assembled is accurate. That means recruited. wow, a hand picked team from a crop of great kids vs public schools that have to take the kids who live in their districts.impressive.

Sometimes that happens when you have two solid wrestlers. It is one of the reasons our sport is not as popular as basketball or football. This match was a lower scoring match with good defense. It is the B.0.T.E. finals....that will happen. But to say it was one of the worst Beast Finals ever is just silly. There was a lot of good defense and solid positioning. I would say overall it was a good match. Come to think of it, this is just my opinion, and you are entitled to yours.
