This camp isn't meant for you to learn technique. (J. Robinson has camps for that) It is made to build mental toughness, and to teach work ethic. I can't believe some of the posters on here that went to camp don't realize that. That's all the counselors talk about. J. plans on you to take what you have learned from the camp and apply it to everyday life. He doesn't expect you to practice 4 times a day for the rest of your life, but he expects your definition of hard work to become a lot harder.

Attempt to learn from J Robinson, and suddenly you will win matches 1-0, and/or lose to someone who should not beat you by a takedown.
Just look at the Schlatter brothers.

J's will teach you to mentally and physically overcome any obstacle in your life...it not only builds state champions but it prepares you for the challenges that life throws at you in all forms...if you have not gone i suggest you do...if you think you can handle it

I got alot better you should have payed attention to the coaches bro. I went on a 70 mile backpacking trip the day after I got back your preperation for camp shows you weresn't in the physical condition required to get through camp with minimal injuries. my roommate didn't really do anything to get ready and he doesn't have cartilage in his knees anymore(he's on my team thats how I know)

this camp did not make me a better wreslter
Sure i was in great shape although both my knees took 3 weeks to recover
i did not learn any solid technique
the technique shown by the college kids was very disapointing since they did not talk about details and just rushed through them without thourough explanation

Thats why Ryan will only "go through the motions", its not about the money, its about the dedication to learn how far you can push your mind and body which can apply to all aspects of life. Key is discipline!

the best thing about this camp is it teaches you how to work. I bet a lot of wrestlers go home and lose all the conditioning they gained at the camp. I think the intensive work should be more for inseason and the summer should be spent learning new technique and improving strength
