Gable is right....absolutely right.....you can\'t be good at Iowa.....you have to be GREAT.

I love what Jimmy Z did as a wrestler and as an asst. coach...but he was not the HEAD COACH that Iowa needed. BTW....Where is Oregon State? How did they do? Nuff said.

i seriously respect iowa wrestling, work ethic, training, philosophy, coaching, etc. but seriously if i have to hear about "buying into the iowa system" one more time, i may vomit in my mouth, this may be the most repetitive/overused interview subject ever...

Gable is the Simon Cowell of wrestling. He simply tells it like it is folks. Whether you agree or not is not the issue, he simply speaks his mind. Fact is that Jim Zalesky, although a GOOD coach, Gable clearly stated that at IOWA being GOOD is not acceptable, you must be GREAT and Jim Zalesky was not a GREAT coach by any stretch of the imagination. We need more Dan Gable types in this world who simply tell it like it is, maybe the world wouldnt be as messed up as it is today with the constant flow of lies pouring out of everybody's mouths these days.

Are you kidding me Gable? How unprofessional to disrespect Jim Zalesky as good but not great (as if he were second rate! Brands, you are on notice here as you are also a well qualified guy but certainly no better or worse than Jim).

You (Brands) know the history. If Gable had such good judgement, than a lawyer might argue that he is illogical in keeping him on for so many years. Jim's Bio:
http://hawkeyesports.cstv.com/sports/m-wrestl/mtt/zalesky_jim00.html speaks volumes for Jim's responsability in developing the program for years!

Is it bad blood Gable (for some reason) that you actually denigrated yourself?

Good luck Brands, your guys did yeoman's work!
