its hard to ask that most of these guys should go on to be doctors and lawyers...its not really fair when you see other athletes at this level get to go on and do it professionally like football basketball baseball hockey gold...you name it just about every other sport in college has a payoff... its sad that wrestling doesn't, these guys probably train harder than any other sport and thats because it is required...when they are training that hard where can they find the time do be studying to be a doctor, i think thats asking a lot and its great for the kids who do but keep in mind the work that they put in and they continue wrestling after college because its a passion and i think thats saying more than seeing some punk football or basketball player getting multi million dollar signing bonuses and complaining its not enough...

Brands has that intensity like HE had just finished wrestling the match! Watching him this weekend jumping around was just AWESOME. Congrats to Metcalf really earned that NC. Congrats to Brands on Coach of the Year honors, brings Iowa back to the top in only his second year...IMPRESSIVE.

Na, he doesn't lol. thats just how metcalf is too. There's a difference between dedication and over doing it. You heard gable, he said brands used to write down everything gable said in a notebook.

Yes wrestling is a great sport, I think its the best sport in the world, but Id rather see more college kids who are winning NCAA titles go on to do more in life than just wrestle. Law school? Med School? The entire wresting youth community look up to these guys as role models, they forget how much influence they have on the kids of the sport.
