Who else could beat those credentials that would have even considered an ASU coaching job. To me the no doubt best choice. But would like to hear who Mr. Iowa thought was better.

Shawn Charles is from Tucson, where the University of Arizona is located. Can you imagine how much more likely Arizona State's team could survive if the U. of Arizona reinstated D-1 wrestling, and the in-state rivalry returned? It will be interesting to see how things go for the U. of A's club program, linked here:

At any rate, Coach Charles was a computer science major and is analytical. He knows that the fewer scholarships he commits now, the more leeway he has with which to reward effort and also recruit during upcoming years. We need for our sport to rebound on the West Coast and we need for Coach Charles to succeed at his alma mater as a coach, like he did as a wrestler.
