I have known Smith since the seventh grade and I can tell you that he just about always thought this way. That is what made him great and allowed him to accomplish everything that he has. I wish I had had this kind of dedication he is talking about. Smith's phenomenal career was a confluence of God given talent, family tradition, great coaching (a lot from his older brother) and most of all TREMENDOUS dedication, focus, work ethic and vision. If yopu watch the vid on "Maintain the Hunger" he admits that he was no more gifted than many- that he just worked very hard to maximize the things he did well. I am 43 years old now and still find this man and this message very inspiring.

Today I feel like crap because I have been making poor choices. After watching this I became reacquainted with the mentality it takes to achieve a worthwhile goal. Now I am off to the library so I can begin my transformation from current mediocrity to the excellence I want to achieve in my future. Thanks flowrestling

This man is a genius. You can probably cant the # of times he ways the word "wrestling" on your two hands. You could just as easily tell someone he is talking about a job in any sector, or LIFE, or any other topic or sport. This stuff is priceless!

I wonder if all the guys in that room realize the wisdom of his words and/or appreciate the experience they have with John Smith as their coach? Not many guys get to have that experience on a daily basis.
