This is great advice. I would contend that he understood these things before his Jr. year as he says. I watched him compete through Jr. High and Highschool and he always had that confidence to a certain degree. I think it may have been about his Jr. year when he got to the point where he realized how good he was and then it didn't matter as he says. Watch the match between him and Alexeev. Right about then is where that transition was.
