Typically I do not post on wrestling forums but it has come to my attention that a post of a derogatory nature was made using my name about Coach Steiner.
The post was obviously created to only harm the character of Coach Steiner and my character by using my name.
Terry Steiner is a tremendous coach, leader, father, husband, and friend! I will not go into the post since it has been removed and the comments are of such a damaging nature that they need not be mentioned again.
The forum should be used to express ideas that help to promote and further our sport not damage it.
I plan to use every resource in an attempt to find out who exactly posted the comments under my name.
Sincerely,
Cary Kolat
The problem is if you have a girl that wants to wrestle, she HAS to wrestle boys, or she doesnt' get to wrestle in 95% of the country. There are no youth tournaments that she can go to and compete against only girls.
I think what Terry is leading to, is actually having a co-ed team. Much like track and X country. That makes sense to me.
Having counterpart male-female sports hasn't saved men's baseball (see Iowa State), track/XC, tennis (see ASU), swimming (see ASU), lacrosse, gymnastics (less than 20 programs left); it won't save wrestling either, as long as the title ix gender quota is in place. In fact gender quotas will LIMIT the growth of women's collegiate wrestling.
