At the Midlands Tournament, in a matchup between the 2008 #1 & #2 ranked recruits in the nation, Rutgers' Scott Winston used a five point move in the 3rd period to defeat Northwestern's Jason Welch in the wrestleback semfinal by a score of 6-1. Winston will now wrestle for 3rd place..welcch got OWNED
I am a huge Winston fan, having wrestled in Jersey and have following his career. Winston and Welch have two totally different styles. Both a great wrestlers. However, I believe that Welch's style may serve him better at the College level, not sure but have a feeling. Also, I think at this point if they met, Welch would come out on top, not what I want, what I think.
Ogle is in same league as me. He stalls 90% of the match. He is incredibly tough to get a takedown againist. Ask Isiah Jimenez of palma who wrestled him like 6 times this year.
Welch is a buddie of mine we wrestled at camps together he got 2 at CIF State as a fresmen at 145lbs 1st as a sophomore at 152lbs and 1st as a junior at 160lbs and same as a senior at 160lbs!!!!!
Not very impressed I can't wait for Winston to show he is the best. When the kid from Gilroy got in on him he didn't finish, those Scott would of finished definitely. It will be a great match and can't wait to see it.
