Really   April 6, 2008 at 9:12pm
Tell me that the 2-1-1 timeperiods at Super 32 doesn't lead to FLAWED results.

Add 1min per period and Winston A) Gets a td or
B) Gets a stalling call and then a td

either way, it is a weak system, and lets a kid get a lead and just hang out and be grooovy...

Cubberly took injury time when Winston had blood! That is proof that he was hurt because if he wanted rest time, he would have just faked his injury after Winston's blood time. So he could get 2 rest times. You people need to actually look at the video.

Good match. Cubbery won it fair and square. Some of you say he was stalling? Well just because you don't shoot doesn't mean he was stalling. He was working the head and attempting those passbyes and shucks left and right. Shooting isn't the only way to work for a takedown.

How many shots did Cubberly take during the match? (I'll give you a hint: the same # I DID...ZERO) He should have been hit for stalling waaaay earlier than 20 secs left. Winston forced the action here but got caught in the tilt.

IF...cubberly would have been an inch closer to the circle on the almost two takedowns he had on the edge, the 5pter would not matter...but thats only IF and the fact of the matter is neither one of these happend and they both wrestled a great match and will see each other in the future for sure
reply

Notfornuthin'   October 30, 2007 at 8:39pm
but it was hardly a beating. If winston finishes that first takedown an inch closer to the circle it would'nt been at least a 5-pter. Good job to both tho.

I agree with Anon, cant we just stop with all this crap. These are two very good wrestlers that wrestled a very good match. Cubberly wins this one , next Winston could win. I am just glad they showed up to wrestle. unlike some people who contact each other and decide which weight to go. I wish to tell these two young men "Thanks for giving the wrestling community a great match and I look forward to seeing round two in the future.

Its a Shame, id have to say, that someone cant be talented and beat some1 else talented, and not be hated on for it.... they have obviously both put in what it takes to be good, eric came out on top, and to say winston would beat him is a crappy statement, for the fact nothin is decided till it happens.... so if there is a rematch it will be decicde dthen, i cant understand y people have some much fun in breakin down people who have worked hard and deserve at least a little compliments

I would say they were both a little tired. I believe that Scotty took over 1 minute to plug a bloody nose during the third period.(Time it on the video) Cubberly took about 30-45 seconds for a banged knee. When two wrestlers of this caliber meet this early, the conditioning of both wrestlers does come into play. I would say they were both conditioned about the same at this point. As far as pointing to the heart- who cares- wasnt like he was jumping around the mat.

Cubberly was the better wrestler without a doubt. But I don't believe his knee was hurt, I think he was absolutely gassed. Pointing to his heart at the end of the match? Son, getting gassed at the end is not heart.

How about a rematch November 10th @ the Fall Classic in Lock Haven, PA??? You two could basically meet in the middle and add to the fact that Quentin Wright will most likely be there (he lives 20 miles from the place) we could see who the best 160 lber really is? What do you say?

Winston looks strong, buy not very technical. Spend more time drilling wrestling and less pumping Iron. Not sure he'll transition well into college or have anywhere near the success in college as he does in HS.
