Kyler's a cool dude, but he's always had a goofy way of speaking. I don't mean to be harsh, but the way he annunciates everything makes me laugh. I'll never forget training camp for JR's the one year. They did this thing where they held camp a month before the tournament as an experiment or something, and that was the only time I've seen Kyler (who's normally totally focused on wrestling) goof around a little bit. The one night in the dorms, the majority of the team had a rap battle in Adam Frey's room, and Kyler's Rap was absolutely hilarious. I almost peed myself when he was trying to rap, because he's whiter than the whitest kid you've ever met, and was wayyyyyyy off haha

with all due respect to Mark Branch, who had an incredible run in %u201994, I find it somewhat ironic that the guy who won this award this year (Kyler) was coached in jr high by the guy this award SHOULD be named after....Gary Barton, who came out of nowhere and won NCAA's for Clarion at the Univ of MD in '72, when absolutely nobody, not even his coach (Bubb), believed it was possible.

Matt will be turning 20 in a few weeks. His looks haven't changed; he still looks like a young kid. Matt never looked like a wrestler, but he was dang good one.

I've had the privilege of watching Matthew from his elementary, junior high and varsity days. He's been dedicated to the sport from his first day in the wrestling room. I've seen the kid's work ethic - phenomenal. Matthew is never satisfied and always looking to improve and further develop his skills. I cannot think of anyone who is more deserving. Congratulations, Matthew!

I was sitting up next to his parents so I was following him and it was pretty cool to see him AA and their reaction.

Matt K - PA is proud of you, can't imagine your schedule in a military academy and wrestling. Wish you didn't have to take out another PA kid though.
