I was fortunate to see Eric Grajales wrestle at a tourney here in CA. He is very well coached and shows incredible promise. He makes very few mistakes and if he does, sees it and reacts very well. Hope you do well at the college level. Good Luck Eric.

Grajales is a best plain and simple. people that like to down talk great athletes should be ashamed of themselves because they are a disgrace to the sport. give the kid credit hes just better then everyone else in the nation. if you want to disagree with that then you wrestle him and lets see how that goes. and im not even from florida of NJ or Pa or NY or Ohio im from California and you dont see me trying to down talk anyone

man it seems whenever there is a good wrestler everyone always has to cut them down whether it is grajales is gonna beat taylor or likewise. both of these kids are both top 2 in the nation and definitaly dont go around on the internet and talk smack about each other. they got where they are by training hard and dedication not sitting on a computer posting who is gonna beat whos ass

wow PA dad you need to go mow your lawn or something and stop ing on the internet, grajales never affiliated himself as a "badass" and even so i think he has every right to. his name is in the number one slot in the nation, if hes such a chump how come he isnt second to a PA kid. yeah PA is tough but as far as it goes, its between florida and ohio for the 135 slot, deal with it. go grajales and go taylor. BEYOTCH

Eric has acheived greatness as a high school wrestler: three state titles, an undefeated record, and a great record competing at national events. He showed respect and consideration for his opponent after the match. I have seen some internet matches that he showed great confidence and maybe arrogance, but it is a wrestling match and not a personality contest. It could be he has a fine personality off the mat and in person, but how a guy wins wrestling match proves more about how he wins matches than his personality. I hope he goes on to great success and does well for us internationally. Sure David Taylor is a great wrestler, but the U.S. merits more than just one so lets all be happy we have Eric, David, Chris Perry in this senior class and others coming.

Eric Grajales is one of the most talented wrestlers in the nation, He has won fargo numeros ammounts of times. He is the equivalent of a collegiate athlete wrestling high school kids, he's not lazy, hes bored. Theres a difference.

I've just seen Grajales wrestle 5 matches over internet , I have not seen him wrestle live . I heard Bubba the Love sponge talking to his arrogant , y dad on the show last week, I was intrigued so I did some research on the kid.
My conclusion , Eric , You and your Dad would have your asses handed to you if you ever coome to PA to wrestle any of our State Champions.
You look way y, No class and you are a very lazy wrestler by comparison to any of the top notch kids I've seen from PA, or as far as that goes , New York and NJ kids would have a field day with you.
All the people all correcct when they say, No compitition in Florida, I mean afterall , Florida , A wrestling state, what a joke.Try Iowa, Ohio, PA , NY and NJ kids tehn you can talk a little bit.
If you think your such a Badass come up here and wrestle kids from Shadyside Academy and Burrell, Blair Academy , etc.
You would get your ass handed to you up here, Wrestling at Michigan , You will find out what it's like to wrestle up North.
As far as a future Olympian, " I HIGHLY DOUBT HE'LL EVER EVEN GET CLOSE TO THAT LEVEL" He'll probably end up hurt , wrestling up here.
Good Luck , Your gonna need it.

"nice" showing by brandon coaches and grajales. Kid has enourmous talent but good lord kid just wrestle. Cut the crap and wrestle. Would love to see taylor beat this kid. It was good to see nate moore beat him last year. amazingly the crying from the coaches did not help him in that match. Would have loved to see brandon come up and wrestle dual meets with teams like Ed's, Blair, Easton, Apple Valley and Graham. I think there would not have been a "streak" if they would have done that. For a kid with this much talent it is very sad that he put on this show.

When any of you accomplish even a quarter of the things that this kid has accomplished then you can talk. He is a great kid with a great future, and no I do not know him, and have never met him, just watched him wrestle a bit. I hope to hell that really was not Mr. Oliver. Anybody with any class would not talk on a message board. They would wait till they met , and let their wrestling do all the talking! Not to mention showing your ignorance and your poor education with your writing abilities. If this was truly him writing i would expect him to fail of out of school and instead of talking about wrestling he would asking "paper or plastic"

Alright, first off: to those of you who call the Brandon coach's classless and disrespectful or whatever, I watched the entire video and not once did I hear either Coach Cozart or Assisstant Coach Hendrickson call for points or show any other type of unproffesional action. The people you hear yelling in this video are not coachs. Coach Cozart is one of the best and respectful coachs in the sport. Just about anyone that meets him will agree.
Next, questioning the caliber of Eric is completely rediculous. He has beaten some of the top ranked kids in the nation, won several national tournaments and most recently qualified for the OLYMPIC trials. Eric split matches with Oliver. Im not saying that Eric is the best there is, but he has proven to be at that level time and time again.
Graff is not at another level then Eric or Oliver, as Oliver just proved not to long ago.
No Florida wrestling is not better then PA, or Ohio, or several other states, but it is on the rise. Beleive it. Being from Florida, I would love to help demonstrate that hard work and determination can lead to success no matter where your area code happens to be.

Does any1 understand that Eric is closer age with Mac's older bro Zack? And he's in collage.... thats CRAZY! Wat the hell's wrong with that...!! I do have to agree, he is ONE HELL of a wrestler, but Mac is SO good, it's actually scary! I don't know... it would be a ass kick match, low scoring, and very close if he wrestled Mac. But it's actually pretty sad that mainly every1 already pretty much ASSUMS that Mac's going to become a 4 timer just like his brother! HELL YEAH he will he kick sum ass next year at state! He's ready, and all you that say Grajales could whoop him lets see it! Mac won in state, HIGH scoring. But no hard feelings on Eric, he kicked but in his match, he's a good kid and a great wrestler. Thats another reason it would be a good match between him and Bailey. You wana tlk to me or u have sumthin to say, email me, ask for it!

wayne wells,
What do the Brandon coaches do or have done that violates the rules? I realize that when a team is as dominant as they have been for years that some folks will not like them, but implying that the coaches have done something wrong is much more than that. I would think that as visible as Brandon has been if someone had the goods on some kind of wrongdoing they'd have reported it to the right people.

What are/were the rules violations?

Dade who beat Brandons streak is held in the highest light by the way they run there program by the coaches of the schools they wrestle but Brandon is not held in a kind light by the coaches of the schools they wrestle and just by playing by the same rules as integrity demands is all that is requires for your peers to respect you, I have wrestled and won at the highest level and would love to have Eric wrestle for me and feel he was done a disservice by those he counted on as he needs no age advantage and allowing it to taint his record is wrong, as he needed no advantage as he is much the best.

Tyler Graff would kill Grajales. Tyler Graff is the best right now at 130. He will face Jordan Oliver in the Dapper Dan and watch the damage he does to Oliver. Oliver and Grajales are great, they are on completely different levels than other kids but Graff is at a level beyond that.

Ohiowrestling,

If your number 1 in the country that is great, but it is always easy to make claims when you haven't wrestled someone. Eric has a style to himself that may make you think he is not that good, but no many kids have a track record like he does.

I think you are envious of a team and coach that you cannot compete with, so you turn to the internet to attack people anonymously. You'd never have the balls to speak to anyone in person like you run your mouth on this forum. Somewhere along the line you came up short against Brandon, Cozart, Cozart's kid or someone who knew Cozart. From that point on you felt a need to trash talk that which you fear.

Nice response - did that make you feel better. It seems that you find it easier to dog Cozart on an anonymous forum than coach your kids to the point they can beat his. If you are not a coach, you are most likely one of those kids whose highest achievement in high school wrestlin thus far is that you made it to the second round of consolations in Districts before you were eliminated. This Uno kid must have rag-dolled you badly during the season or you wouldn't be so focused on him! Ok first don't blame Eric for the way he acts sometimes, if you have been around the Brandon coaches, parents, fans and wrestlers you will understand what I am talking about. One of their coaches, who once was in the WWF better know as A Big Jackass, acted as if he was going to get into another coach%u2019s face while telling people to hold him back. "Hold me back", what is this middle school? The head coach got into it with the crowd at regionals last year. Most of you are probably thinking yeah right, Russ, no way he is just great, isn%u2019t he? Just one last thing, I heard this year he pushed back the district start time to 9:00, I am sure that had nothing to do with Palmetto Ridge and Manatee starting their districts at 8:00. This guy has been doing stuff like this for years. Congrats Eric on winning your 3rd, you showed class at the end helping that kid up. Congrats to A. Boreli for not taking the easy road and throwing in the towel. I wrestled in PA, the top kids in Florida are on the same level as the top kids in Pa, Oh, and NY, there just are not as many down here.

Grajales is legit. I saw him wrestle Oliver twice and they are very evenly matched in skill level - they'd probably split 50-50 if they wrestled 100 times.

I have heard Grajales wrestled at 130 to let the team have a stronger line-up. He could easily make 125 and I'll be he goes lower than that at the upcoming Junior Worlds.

Grajales has won too many national titles and beat too many nationally ranked kids, state champs, state placers, etc., to have people think he's not legit just because he's from Florida.

Florida wrestling is not like Pennsylvania's - then again, neither is Iowa's, Oklahoma's, Illinois, etc! It amazes me to see some guys on here dogging Florida wrestling, yet their own state is not known to be all that strong when compared to the really good states.

Placed 5th at worlds, won the super32 twice, won a couple national championships in Greco. To say that he wouldnt place in NJ or IL or OH is ridiculous. How many national championships does he need to win? How many people out of state(that are ranked) would he have to beat? Thats why he goes to every out of state tourney and dominates. Grajales is one month away from being 19 years old and he is a junior and that is the way it is for all Brandon wrestlers as there parents are coached to hold them back at least 2 years while they are in middle school so they can have the age advantage in high school as they have a win at all cost mentality and they will not let honor and integrity stand in there way and Jordan Oliver is a 17 year old senior 2 years younger than Eric who is a junior you figure it out as I saw a 14 year old freshman from Manatee get destroyed by Eric and Eric stood over him after he pinned him in a display of horrible sportsmanship but when the freshman was advised Eric was 5 years older than him it helped him to understand why Eric was so strong as well as advanced in his skills. Brandon for the sake of the sport clean up your act so pride can overcome your lack of integrity.

I guess Josh Moore was showing no class when he legcradled Jonny Thompson to
get to the NCAA finals. Mark Perry also hits a great legcradle. Get over the
leg cradle thing. Grajales would make the finals of any state at 125-130 with Jordan Oliver PA and Nate Moore IA with a shot at beating him. Personal dislike for the kid is skewing wreslting prediction here.

Eric is wrestling not as good of talent so he's leg craddling and making it interesting. He beat Jordan Oliver, going to OKst and ranked 1st in country. He steps it up when he wrestles talented kids, not his fault florida is weak in wrestling. He would beat Colin Palmer, and win states in any of the 50 states.

Anyone who honestly believes that Grajales wouldn't win state in Ohio, Nj, or Pa is pretty dense. The only person with the ability to beat him would be Oliver, someone Grajales has beat, and I'm not from florida I'm from Ohio. The kid has consistently proven himself on the national level and deserves credit regardless of all of the age speculation, state, etc. My only knock is that it comes off as a little classless leg cradling your opponent on such a big stage when your clearly head and shoulders above your competition, but he does make it exciting. Rather than knocking the kid for his abilities though we should be excited that there is such parity in our nation in terms of wrestling strength. The kids exciting to watch and that should be enough to satisfy all.

Its pretty sad that people have to bash a kid for winning states dominantly. All of these Mac Bailey's and other "ranked" wrestlers that think they can beat Grajales should prove it instead of hating on him. And the leg cradle was to make the match more exciting, I was at Florida states and apart from the Earl hall throw in the final seconds Grajales's match was the only one that EVERYONE watched. And for all of those people that don't think he would place at other states, you really have not watched any of his other matches on this site, being as Grajales beat PA's 2xer and was the only one that really took a shot. Congratulations Eric on your third state title.

As mentioned below, regardless of whether you think that FL is weaker than some other states, we are talking about a nationally-ranked wrestler in Grajales. He's won both Cadet and Junior Nationals. He represented the United States at 55 kg last summer at Junior Worlds. Let's not degrade him simply because he happens to live in FL. He's not dodging anyone on the national or world level--his win over Jordan Oliver of PA earlier in the year testifies to that. You can watch that match on Flo and see how Grajales pushed the action nearly the whole match.

It is a pointless argument to say this young man "Would not do well in (insert state here)" He is huge, athletic and obviously has the skills to compete at high levels. To say otherwise reflects pettiness and a complete lack of anything real to add to the discussion.
Yes, this appeared to be a mismatch. But mismatches happen in every state and at every level of competition. It should not condemn an entire state's program to mediocrity. Anyone who ever saw Alexander Karelien completely dominate world-class wrestlers should know this.
It is also wrong to call the smaller wrestler names. Who among us really enjoys wrestling a unbeatable (to us) opponent who seems to want to drag the match out and extend your humiliation?
All that being said, Grajales *should* have wrestled to pin the kid. It would have been the merciful thing to do in this case. It was obvious he was not trying to do so.

Yeah well for people who think Eric Grajales would be alright in other states. Eric Beat Jordan Oliver in the begging of the season at the super 32 which is a national tournament in the finals,,and remember Jordan is ranked number one in the country. Jordan is also a senior and eric is a Junior. Now Jordan is also one of the most dominant wrestlers in the country and has had an amazing career and the match the next time they meet could go either way. Jordan a two time state champ in Jersey, 4 time Reno tournament of champions finalist, and a fargo champ. Great Career... So000 ERIC would probably do a little better then 8th in ohio he would most likely win any state in his wait class including Ohio or NJ. Ohio is arguably the most dominant state to wrestle in for sure but u cant take anything away from this talented wrestler who beat Oliver who has pretty much dominated the nation in his wait year in and year out.
