I was at Absegami at the Region Finals and I thought Pat was pinned. After watching the begining of this video, I am sure he was flat. Thanks for sharing this classic vid.

I thought Pat had him on the combo shot with 30 secs left. The place was rocking. Great Match.

I was there watching and feeling the stands shaking...covington went on to be an all american football player at nc state. he was drafted by the buffalo bills and if im correct played 3 or seasons for them. sadly he was shot and killed a year or two after his nfl career ended.

LYNCH WAS TWO MATCHES AWAY FROM BEING CONSIDERED THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME IN JERSEY. SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 171, WAS NICE ENOUGH TO MOVE UP TO BENEFIT HIS TEAMMATE, DREW MUZLAY. COVINGTON DROPPED FROM AROUND 230LB AFTER FOOTBALL SEASON. THEN LYNCH REALLY GOT SCREWED BY BOBBY DOUGLAS LEAVING ARIZONA STATE I THINK IN HIS FIRST YEAR THERE. I WAS 9 YEARS OLD WHEN I SAW LYNCH LOSE THESE MATCHES. IN THE 17 SEASONS SINCE THEN I THINK THE USUALLY ELECTRIC ATMOSPHERE AT REGION 8 HAS ONLY BEEN SHAKEN SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE INTENSITY THAT IT WAS THAT SATURDAY NIGHT BACK IN MARCH OF 1991.

That was a great battle.
