Goebel didnt stand a chance the whole time. My man Ricco is goin on to bigger and better things u will see him soon getting crowned national champion in the future at Iowa State. ya skeet skeet playas
i like how garrett makes no attempt at a throw or anything. even though theres only 15 seconds left. a throw coulda won it with a pin. purely no heart.
Eric never said that Ferentz was the strongest wrestler hes competed against, I've personally talked to him about it and the words never crossed his lips.
thopmsons one of the better moving heavyweights i've seen in high school. Heavyweights that move like that always seem to do great things in college. Good luck at the next level Eric!
This is for Dingleberry----were you at that match in Independence where Ferentz supposingly got caught? If you were there you would have seen that Thompson rolled him over and pinned easily. No getting caught.
Eric - great job & of course the rest of Waverly Shell Rock Wrestling Team -
Very proud of all of you & to win Clash 6 is outstanding. You have all been coached very well & done exceptional - Thank You!
Thompson is quoted as saying that James Ferentz from City High in Iowa City is the strongest wrestler he's physically competed against. I think the match was 6-4 before Ferentz got caught towards the end and pinned.
Do any of you realize that Thompson has probably been in wrestling shape a lot longer than Goebel. Wrestling isnt Goebel's main event plus his HS FB season probably lasted a bit longer than Maresh's.
No offense but from what I've seen here maresh would have very little problem with goebel... Maresh and thompson would be a great match. And no, minnesota doesnt have 3 heavyweights better then these guys, but we probably have one.
oh...and just in case some of you forgot, Ben Berhow and Joe Nord were heavies in Minn, both ranked in the Nation when they came out. Now, I am sure there are other heavies in the state that they would have their hands full with ESPECIALLY Maresh...he is stronger than both of them and can score, pinned his way through the Xmas tourney, no easy feat
Billy Pierce is the only one that made a name for himself collegiately in recent times and Trevor Laws. What did he prove? He played FB in college and his wrestling career ended after HS. As for Illinois HWTs I think Matt Roth may have had a bigger upside than Goebel. Different attitude and quicker..Maybe more athletic
Apple Valley's heavyweight was pinned by the HWTs from Waverly-Shell Rock and Ballard-Huxley IA along with Goebel from Montini at the Clash. Where does he rank in the state?
and goebel at 1
even though...thompson won

Billy Pierce, Trevor Laws, John May, Kyle Massey, and now Sam Maresh... all nationally ranked.
