ca also only has one division and tell me why just about all the state champs are ranked top seven in the country
and by the way welch would kill winston and he already has twice before!

Winston has lost to cubberly who has lost to Condon. Winston has also lost to Polz who has lost to Howe. So I think Jason would have his way.

New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country. Meaning, you don't have to go far to get great competition. NJ's tournament is tougher than Cali's.

California   July 17, 2008 at 8:58am
is a very difficult state to win a state championship in because there is only one division. unlike other states suchas PA, NJ, and OH that have multiple divisons.

That is why NJ has all their toughs come to Fountain Valley. Laughable.

New Jersey is the toughest state to wrestle in they have the most talented and toughest wrestlers by far, no contest the only states to compete with NJ would be OH and PA ..MAYBE! and if Winston came out of there unbeaten he would beat on welch

NJ,PA,and OH are the hardest states to wrestle in,they are the toughest to win a state tittle and be successful in. CA is not tough and is easier to be successfull and win state titles. To be honest i think Scott Winston would kill this kid.

California Is Better   May 25, 2008 at 6:00pm
california is better than nj, ohio, iowa and pennsylvania because california is big enough to find good wrestlers. NJ, Ohio and the rest DO have some great guys. but california has more to pick from as it is the most populous state in the US. Therefore California is the best. In a CA vs. "anybody else" duel, all Cali would need is Clovis, Central Catholic and Poway. Cali would destroy any other state.

dude california has 1 state tournamant. So if welch took it three times, I thinkhe's pretty good, PA, OH, NJ best will lose in a duel by Californas best.

I was actually at this match and I was sitting right in front of the mat. I think it is possible that Winston could beat Welch, but I seriously doubt it. Welch flows amazingly well with his moves. And I don't think Winston would be able to stop him. Even though Winston is undefeated, I still don't think he would be able to keep up with the intensity/fast pace match that Welch would bring.

The reason why jason welch makes it look effortless is because he is at the D1 college level while everone else is a highschool wrestler that is why!!!!! he is just a FREAK

Sorry NJ. I bleed Jackson red and black but my money would be on Welch. Winston is awesome, but Welch has longer limbs and seems to master the concept of leverage.

how does he make it look so effortless? He seems to be putting no strength into moves that normally require alot of strength and explosion.
