actually, Welch is hardly trying on this match. He teched this kid twice this past season, in the finals of two different tournaments. Esparza wreslted Scott Winston and Winston beat him by 12 points.
i think welch is a pretty good wrestler but i think conrad polz would beat him hes really not wrestling anybody that a good wrestler it seems like he doesnt get tested at all so
If you have never seen the kid Welch wrestle back down...He would not only beat Polz, I would say he would Tech him, a fall in this kids eyes is letting his opp. off the hook, he would more than likely ho;d Polz scoreless...And that is how good Welch is...And by the way, Who realy cares if he was 5th or 6th...It is what we call the toughest trny in the country and he is in high school, and at 160lbs, not 126's...A full ride from everyone staring with Iowa down to UCDavis and Oregon says all that needs to be said...If coach Brands wants, you're that good...
Welch is #1 in the Nation he has only 7 losses in high school and is a CIF State Champ for 3 years in a row and is a 3 sport athelete wrestling, football and soccer and he placed 5th at Midlands and was the only high school wrestler invited!!!!!
I agree with Jax Jags. I NEED to see Winston/Welch. Welch dominates his oponents, but his oponents don't look to be very good. At least in the videos I've seen. Did see his vid from Midlands this year, but my thoughts on his performance vary. Afterall, he did face the #1 college wrestler in the country and that takes some nads. I think Winston takes him based on what I've seen on the vids.
Andrew Howe of Indiana has proved himself winning an open and placing in and open losing only to Gregor Gillespie(ret. natl. cham)11-4, and brandon becker(2x AA)by a point will beat welch. I cant wait to see this macth
Talk is cheap! Welch is Nationally ranked 1st - Polz is 5th. Welch placed at Midlands. Polz is good as a high school wrestler but has yet to prove himself against the college boys.
