The PA guys are going to need to make up thier minds which lie they're going with on this one...Chris weighed the same as Kolat, both at the Classic and the following week at the Nationals. You've acknowledged as much by bringing up the fact he lost to Chandler in the semi's. The PA ref screwed Bono. Everyone in the building knew it! That's why they booed the ref at the end! Bono scored at LEAST 2 sets of backs in the third. Had another PA ref apologize to me the following week at the Nationals during weigh ins about it. He was so embarrassed that they had to steal the tie!

Not a dig at Chris or the great wrestlers of Fla. Chris is doing a fine job in Tenn, and hope to see continued success. Just dont like hearing the haters on one of the sports all time greats. good luck to both of you well respected guys of wrestling.

Not denying the fact that Bono controlled the 3rd but you are also talking about kids at this time in their early careers, and how do you not gas when the last time he had a six minute match was ... who knows he only had about ten of those his whole high school career in the weak wrestling state of PA. Probably didnt expect such a tough opponent in the wrestling rich Brandon, I mean Fla.

Bono definately controlled the 3rd as Kolat dominated the 1st and 2nd periods. Kolat give him 2 and gave up a cheap 2(with confidence) on the edge. I have seen worse refs he could have give Cary one at the end of second period. Kolat may have overlooked Bono on that day, however both had great wrestling days to come

I forgot how bad Bono worked Kolat in the third. Anyone else remember how good Kolat looked a couple of weeks later against Chandler (who beat Bono in the semi's) in the National finals?

AIn addition, are there other guys who wrestled in HS Nat's that year who remember when Kolat showed up late to the wrestler and coach rules meeting @ Duquesne with some chick that looked like a model from a rock video? Some pretty good wrestlers there that year.

That ref must have been a home town ref or something. That was horrible.

Boy does this bring back some memories. I was there with my high school wrestling coach. Even as a kid, I knew that Bono had gotten hosed. I think the ref was in too much disbelief to count those NFs.

Bono had potential near fall points three times. The ref was probably a coach for pennsylvania team
