Jim Gibbons won a high school state championship in Ames, Iowa. He then won an NCAA Championship wrestling for the Cyclones. He followed by guiding Iowa State to its last NCAA team championship. Now, Gibbons is one of the top wrestling broadcasters in the business and follows the sport very closely. Gibbons has worked with ESPN, the Big Ten Network and has been a longtime voice on Iowa Public Television’s College Wrestling broadcasts. With the recent hiring of Kevin Jackson at Iowa State, Gibbons talks to Wrestling 411 about the recruiting of Jackson to Iowa State after LSU cut its wrestling program, having Jackson on staff for five seasons and what he expects the impact of the coaching carousel to be.
