#8 | Most impressive to get to the national finals with three years off from team wrestling. If Amherst is going to compete, they really should do it properly with a varsity team. It's such an inexpensive sport. reply |
#7 | Amherst wrestling was reinstituted this year after 20 year break from Div III status...the new club sent two wrestlers to the NCWA, Matisis (235) and Rose (285) in its first year back. Both are seniors who got a chance to wrestle again, after not wrestling since high school. Pretty neat accomplishment after three years off, and great start for the new Amherst program. reply |
#6 | SO, your point is null and void considering in 2008 an NAIA national champion only placed 7th in the NCWA Tournament. Does that mean ncwa is tougher? No, but honestly WHO CARES. People need to stop worrying about what division is tougher and be happy that there are more opportunities for wrestlers and this will help our great sport. We need to support every division and help promote the great sport of wrestling instead of bickering among ourselves while more and more colleges lose their teams. SUPPORT WRESTLING STOP HINDERING IT! reply |
#5 | no, neither of these guys went to the nationals in naia, i dont know matisis' story, i know luke wrestled 165 at cumberland got injured and transfered, he wrestles 235 like a 165, thats what made him so successful, reply |
#4 | he didn't place in NAIA, but won NCWA... reply |
#3 | he was a regional champ last year, but he got hurt and transfered to mtsu reply |
#2 | What did Borneman do in NAIA? reply |
#1 | sucks to see borneman take his shoes off, good career tho, way to top it off with a 2nd place finish luke! reply |
