#4 | Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I'm from CT and up there, they don't allow an in-season wrestler to train/wrestle anywhere else but at their high school practices. I'm surprised they allow kids to go to they gym to run to cut weight. I think it's really stupid. We're getting held back while other states like MD, which is known more as a lacrosse state, are able to progress as wrestling states and the kids in those states are able to get more and better competition after their high school practices. It just doesn't seem right. reply |
#3 | I have trained there before after my HS practice. It is so tough but it is a great way to cut weight. This guy is a very good coach anyone in Baltimore area should kick themselves if they don't train w/ this guy. reply |
![]() #2 | Yes, both private and public school Maryland rules allow high schoolers to attend extra wrestling clubs on their own. Most, if not all, of the guys at this Wednesday night workout had already been through a first workout at their home school. reply |
#1 | Are MD high school kids allowed to train say at this club with Kolat, while they're in their own high school season? So could a high school kid go to their high school practice, then after that, if they wanted to, go workout at this private club? I'm just trying to understand some of the differences state by state. I know where I'm from, it's highly illegal to wrestle and train anywhere else while you're in your high school season. But I think this is party what's holding our state back from becoming a better overall wrestling state. reply |
