Is this the same jon dillion that used to beat Jack Hathaway? We met you guys at an indiana tournament years ago. The dad was very helpful and took alot of time out to help my son.
Both boys looked very good. Stall calls seemed very fast. To me Dillion looked like the better wrestler Meyers was the stronger of the two, looked very hard to hold down. Looked like Dillion did what he had to to win, that's obvious by the score.

Great match both will do well in high school, myers needs to work on a few things like stance and finishing from headlock but has great movement and speed ,dillon apperars to be a good patient wrestler who knows the sport .

As just an innocent bystander watching a match, I think that both of the two young men are top notch and have brilliant high school careers ahead of them. The Meyers boy was the aggresor, but Dillon had counter after counter. As for the "victory laps", that boys in the 8th grade and just won probably the most improtant tourny of his life thus far. Nothing wrong with celebrating in my opinion. Congrats to both parties and good luck in your future matches.

No body said dillon did not deserve to win or did not wrestle a smart match and no body said myers wrestled perfect but according to some people on here everything dillon did was perfect "he did not stall he was wrestling a college prep match"HAaaa"he nearly had back "im still looking all i saw was an attempted tilt that he lost and got reversed on,and the best "he wrestled to win not to tech or pin "as if he was so good he could do whatever he wanted yes if myers had won he would have been happy and im sure hes actually happy with second placing higher than the year before but many of us have seen him and his brother win and they act much more appropriatly than what i saw in this match They always respect the sport and their opponent .

i'm sure if myers had one he would have been just as happy.you guys think no one is better than myers and every one should act like them.and if they don't there wrong.you all need to seek help.just because dillon is happy to win, does not mean dillon has no class.just because dillon kept myers from scoring on all his attempts but one,it does not mean he is stalling.what should he have done.let myers score so you guys can be happy.the object is to score and not be scored on.and if they are going to score, give up one not two.he did just that.myers stalled just as much as dillon.and all the stall calls where kind of fast.the ref gave no time to work the moves.seems that dillon was the only one to get close to nerfall points.he hit just as many scoring attemps as myers.anyone who watches this film can see that dillon was attempting moves the hole match, was stopping myers scoring attempts or countering his moves.there all part of wrestling, and dillon seem to know exactly when to use them.its called smart wrestling.not stalling.maybe they all should wrestle the way you want.and let myers win so all you guys can rest easier.after all he is the best there is,he has the best style,he is the strongest, the fastest, trains harder, and has more class than anyone.everyone should just quite wrestling,we will never reach myers level.you win.all of us must be wasting our time.

So i guess when dillon stalls he is preparing for college riding time and when he wins 3-2 after trailing he could have actually pinned or teched whenever he chose too .you guys kill me ,dillon is good but the main difference i noticed between him and both myers boys is the way he acts after winning he has to do a few victory laps first while both myers boys know how to win humbily and never jump around pointing everywhere ridiculously they simply shake hands and go on they are the epitimy of class.

3 completed moves and only a 3-2 win you are a genious no one in the country got back points on Myers this year and he wrestled in much tougher tournaments with much tougher kids than Dillon Myers was to powerful to be put on his back he rolled through and got an escape that would have been a reversal if time had not ran out .Myers little brother Austin dominated grade school state the same way Stephen did last year putting everyone on their back they are both grade school state champs and both will be three time jr high placers and Jr high state champs .Be happy with your win and quit whineing it was a good match Dillon deserved to win but by crybabying you are only making yourself look stupid as The Myers will both be multiple time high school state champs yes all kids are nervous but myers is a 7th grader and Dillon an 8th grader who has competed on this level much longer than Stephen ,No 2 kids in the state have improved as much as these boys and i do not see it stopping any kids who have ever wrestled them in practice will agree they are the real deal

myers is the better wrestler.haha.you all must like a fantasy world.every one is nervous.in a championship match.if they meet again the out come will be the same.every wrestler at there level has alot of pressure to succed.a good wrestler does not let the pressure screw with his wresling.dillon did just that.you all are brain washed.i'll take dillon every time.but what ever makes you all feel better,if talking up you'r wrestler makes you feel better.talk is cheap.no one is buy.so sell it some where else.

comet fan, you'r smoking crack.name any moves myers hit other than a stand up,a single and an ankle pick.he did not complete anything.give it a rest.dillon completed three moves and won the macth.having a leg in and hooking the arm is not stalling.the ref did not give dillon time to work with the leg in.there are three types of wrestling offence, defence and counter wrestling.and dillon used all of them.dillon was the only one to almost score nerfall points.counter wrestling is not stalling.looked as if the ref would have not called stalling both times.dillon would have had back point.look close to dillons position at both stall calls.the first could have been a gilateen or tilt and the second time dillon had a leg in,waiting for myers to hit the switch.so he can over hook the his arm for a turk type move.dillon will bait kids into making mistakes.then score.i have seen dillon do it many times.i also ref,my self.being dillon had a leg in working on the arm,he should have been given time to work from there.he was not given proper time.the ref's gave myers a gift.dillon would have more points than three.myers points where given to him by the ref's.

Dillon is a good wrestler but stalled his but off jr high is not college ,myers was up fast in the 2nd and dillon stalled because he knew he could not hold him he did a great job in the 3rd catching myers coming in he wrestled a much smarter match and took advantage of his opponents aggresiveness he will do well in high school if he maintains this kind of poise under pressure as will myers if he learns from his mistakes and uses better technique

Myers pressed the whole first period dillon backed up and spent most of the first looking at the mat because he was in a front headlock fighting of myers who was attempting dumps and chasing the leg there was no shot attempted only an attempt to base up and counter myers dump he did an excelent job of not giving up two .in the second myers was up so fast that when they were brought back to center dillon resorted to kneeling on myers feet and riding hips and when he did attemt a tilt myers rolled through and got a reversal but was only given an escape for dillons loss of control in the third myers apeared to stall as well and dillon finally escaped after a great scramble and a strong standup then went back to backing up while myers pressed but he was smarter and stayed in his stance and caught myers coming in out of his stance myers reached across body for the leg while dillon sucked him in then failed in his attempt to roll out Dillon got the two then waited out the rest of the match giving up the stall point .As i said before if Myers calms down and stays in his stance instead of rushing his moves it would be a different match regardless of the outcome .Dillon apears to be a very talented wrestler who knows the sport and can wrestle nearly flawless.Myers is a beast with some very easily corrected flaws great match just calling it as i saw it .

Im sure you will see a rematch and no one was making excuses sounded to me like everyone agreed dillon won fair and square you say he attempted all these moves and he did, to bad he could not finish them maybe he could have won by more than a point if he was as tough as you guys say Myers would have been pinned in the first, whats up with the bogus record in the brosure one of your guys records say 139-15(stephen beat him "again"too) while Dillons says 28 -0 funny i saw him lose in the Ironman 10-4 sounds to me like you guys up north are always talking up your kids and forgetting when they lose ,Myers could have easily made 84 in the first place but thinks cutting is for wimps looking forward to watching Stephen Hammer all the Northern kids next year along with all his Buddies from Jordans he never ran from a tough match or circumstance thats why he will be a three time placer and the only kid in the state to ever place in jrs and win grade school on the same weekend ,and he will have two Finalist singlets when he moves on ,I am already feeling sorry for some kids next year.

the fuss comes from the south.they are always bragging up there kids and clubs .then when they loose they make excusses or they say how much better ther kids wrestled.how much more movement there kid shown.how many moves there kid attemted.even if they did not score.who cares if myers was winning by one in the second.he lost the match.to say dillon was hanging on and doing nothing is crazy.attemted three tilt's,countered myers switch and almost turned it in to a tilt.all myers was doing was basing out and trying to hit a switch.you people down south will always see only what you want to see.and if you can't beat a kid you just talk him down,to make you feel better.people can watch the video and see that myers was out wrestled and out smarted.you'r hand get's raised the same no matter how much you win by.one point or ten.still a win.the one point excape point was a gift from the ref's.the time was out.the bopper guy was watching the match not the clock.i was there at mat side.i hope to see a rematch.

Dillon is a great kid and a good wrestler, 7th/8th grade is not college and rules are rules i dont know what all the fuss is about i guess people are mad Myers kept it close and was actually winning for a while this college riding time stuff is pretty funny hanging on and doing nothing is stalling .Myers was on top of dillon driving in even though his head was trapped looks like it could have been a reversal .Dillon clearly won in the 3rd showed great poise and maturity in taking advantage of Myers bad stance and taking a good shot he earned his title fair and square. That being said anyone who knows Myers knows he is a good kid with a big heart and 3 years ago he could not have dreamed of being in the spot he was in in this tournament and last years as well when he won grade school and placed 3rd in jrs on the same weekend he will be the one to beat next year if he improves his technique and stays training hard if not nothing is a sure thing in OH IO.

all i'm saying is,in college the match dillon wrestled is the way it's done.he had a leg in and working on top.that would not be called stalling it would be riding time.at some time in all these kids future they will have to mature into college level wrestling.dillon has all ready started the change to that level.any one that has been in this sport knows what i'm saying.dillon kept his body and hipps in good position the hole match.that is why myers did not score.the one piont excape was just that one piont.myers showed no control and dillon was smart enough to hook his leg and keep his head trapped.the time was up before dillon lost his control.i watched the video some one filmed at the tournament.that showed the clock.the time clearly was up.by at least one full second.but crap happens.dillon stayed focused.showing his maturity.don't get me wrong myers is fun to watch and shows a ton of maturity as well.he earned alot of respect in that tournament.and proved he is the one to beat next year.dillon has done alot of great things in this sport.he is a very good kid as well.and never talk crap about any one he wrestles.kids like being around him.kids that loose to him and kids that beat him.i saw him and myers talking and hanging out after the match.alot of parents and fans could learn from these to young men.

Dillon wrestled a smarter match and took advantage of Myers being out of his stance and won on his takedown ,but Myers easily had more movement and clearly scored in the 2nd period the only question was time ,it was not 1 escape but 2 reversal the head DOES NOT have to be out to score .Wether dillon was trained to or not riding the hips and sitting on the legs without any movement is stalling period.Myers did not look as good as usual on bottom for whatever reason ,he is always moving at super speed and needs to be more calm and focus on technique like Dillon did waiting to feel myers out and then coming back in third period after myers made all the attempts at scoring in the first because thats what he does naturally he brings it .North South it does not matter physically Myers has it all and only needs to be more focused and use better technique and he will easily win state and silence all his critics.Tough tournament great match.

yes if dillon goes to college,i'm sure he will.in this match it was college level.he would have had killer riding time.so keep wrestling you style.you'r style is good to go.just keep making it better and improve you'r self on you'r feet.i don't think any one can out wrestle on the mat,but i think you'r a little weak on you'r feet.every one needs to under stand that these kids all want to go to college.the way dillon wrestled out this match is very close to what any college coach would want dillon to do.other than be better on his feet.stephen also is close to that level.he should work on his bottom wrestling and on his feet.no one touches him next year!great match!

you guy's from the south think just because dillon kept bringing myers back to the mat and not letting him go does not me he is stalling.that is what he is trained to do i'm sure.even the announcer was surprised on the stall calles.dillon seemed stronger, smarter and had better technique.and hit just as many moves or more.dillon's stand up in the third was set up buy not stop motion and myers had no answer for.on the other hand dillon seem to have a counter move or block to keep myers from scoring.i call that smart no stalling.i would like to hear some comments from college experienced people.i have watch alot of college wrestling.dillon seems to have it. myers is not far from that level.

Myers definatly moved more and "attemted"moves i doubt anyone on here needs a wrestling lesson on scoring A 3-2 match dillon was a better technical wrestler getting the escape and takedown but stalling to keep Myers from escaping or switching wich he appeared to do in the 2nd period but was only awarded an escape for Dillons loss of control even though dillon was on his Butt headed to his back.Dillon wrestled the smarter match and won a close one obviously but Myers scored with an "escape "and Dillons obvious stall yes its the facts and cant be argued .Yes it was a cool match up one we will see again .Congrats on placing even higher than last year Stephen you are one spot away from being a three time state placer and a state champ 3,2,1,you will get it done .Congrats to John Dillon he is an outstanding young man wrestler and state champ good luck in high school next year.

myers stand up was fast but dillon did what he was trained, that is to bring him back to the mat.how do any of you guys know what each wrestler was attempting.dillon kept him to the mat the hole 2nd.with many scoring attemps.dillon was the only one to hit a stand up and excape.he also finish the winning take down.he ran a bar tilt.you don't get pionts for good movement and attemting moves only completing the move.dillon also has a fast stand up but it look to me as if in the third john knew he was down one to nothing, and had 1:30.plenty of time to attemp a two piont score of bottom.but myers was tuff on top doing a little stalling of his own, being up by one.dillon change up by getting to his feet pretty easily and scoring a text book excape for the tying piont.then shot an ok single.using good wrestling skills and strenth crumbled myers to his hipps and scored the only take down.so if myers showed better movement hit more moves, was faster and stronger way did he lose the match.and way did he not truely complete any thing he attempted.no stand up for an excape no turns and no take downs.mmmmm!!!this is how the match went.it's not how i see it.it's facts that you can not argue.good luck to both.i enjoyed the video

Watching the match with the stall on Dillon i think you are going by what you know he normally tries to set up but there was no guilotine or tilt developing and he was riding the hips .He is a very sound wrestler and deserves the win but it is what it is ,All stephen needs is to pay attention to the right people settle down a little and keep training .Northern ohio has some great wrestlers around these kids age and weight while southern ohio with the exeption of the Graham /Jordan kids is fairly weak at this weight and age Stephen does a great job in hanging with all the kids up north and everwhere else with what he has to train with ,He will bring it again next year and finish up a 3 time placer Both these guys could have placed well wrestling up a few weight classes and everyone who knows them knows its true.

He definatly stalled Myers standup was to fast for him and he knew it and Myers showed much better movement and more moves ankle picks snap downs front headlock etc .Stephen is a true 90 lber and a true 7th grader. He had control in the 2nd period how can that be 1 and not 2 ,Great match Dillon got the takedown playing on stephens agressive style not his "d"Dillon was the better technical wrestler. Sure these two will mix it up again and sure Stephen will be back in the finals next year as well

look at it again.to have a reversal his head had to pop out before time pasted.if where there you would have seen that time had ran out before the exscape was given.looked as if john knew what he had to do,to not give up two.both wrestlers did there share of stalling, but the second stalling call on dillon in the third was wrong.dillon looked to have stephens arm under hooked looking to tilt or run a gilateen when the ref called it.how is that stalling.i think thay both are very talented.and wrestled a very smart match.stephen playing "d" trying to slow dillon down and dillon mixing it up,to catch stephen out of position.dillon maybe an 8th grader but he is only thirteen and will be a young 9th grader.super match.good luck to both in the future.
