This was not a close match. Brown holds his ground better than most against Metcalf, but still Metcalf was in control the entire match. Only 2 ways to beat Metcalf right now: catch him on his back and pin him, or stall the entire match (like Palmer) and hope to score some quick points at the end. Everyone talks about how aggressive Metcalf is on his feet and how well he finishes shots, but the truly remarkable thing to me is that he never gets ridden for more than a couple of seconds. He's up, out, and after you every time. If someone could take him down and ride him a minute or two, they'd have a chance.
It was a five count. The ref makes the 1st count from his feet as he is going to the ground and then makes the last four. Also I don't think that it's Metcalf not going 100mph, I think that Brown is just one of the better guys at 149 and he is oviously pretty strong because both of their matshes this have been fairly close.
Brown has got to finish that single when he has it that high in the air.
Also. I have never seen Metcalf wrestle so laid back. Usually he goes 100 mph!!
It was a good match by metcalf i dont think people are catchin on it was a good take down but metcalf got right back to work and was in his face looking for more! And thats a good wrestler. Dont stop till the end!
I believe people are starting to catch on to metcalfs style. He better stop trying to wrestle for the crowd and win the match.
Also, it was 2takedown, and that wasnt 3 backpoints only a 4 count...
He better hope he doesnt have steve brown on his side of the bracket at nationals...
