f dude i dont know all the facts and niether do you. instead of sitting on line all day and wasting my time i get on the mat. AND RYAN_X cogar has way more heart then scales.
cogar is the man you should see the way he trains. If Scales beat Cogar he has to be really tough. I really doubt he would have beat cogar if it wasnt for him being such a good staller. If they wrestle again cogar wins by at least five. give scales credit hes tough. i hope they wrestle again
Why isn't it me? I didn't say anything wrong or degrading. I thought you guys would enjoy to hear from one of the wrestlers in this video. I said my peace that's all I have to say. Oh, except that smooty is classless, immature, and racist. Grow up man.
Congratulations to both wrestlers. As you can see from the video, both competitors brought and attempted there best stuff. Cogar shoots with real authority and Scales is a tie-up throw guy. Lets leave it at that. Just like in Olympic wrestling when two wrestlers are so equally matched it may seem like not a lot is going on. Both attempted there best and that's all a coach could ever ask for. Orlando is the best kid that I have ever had the privilege of coaching and I am not talking about his wrestling skills. I'm talking about his character.
This is Adam Cogar. It's been over a week and I've coped with this loss. I have 5 years of college ahead of me. For those of you taking credit away from Orlando, grow up. He is a heck of an athlete just like all of the other kids that made it to the state tournament. He won this match, you cannot take that away from him. There are rules in wrestling for a reason, and refs to enforce them. To the person with the racial slur, you do not represent the sport of wrestling well. We devote our lives to the sport(s) we love, on top of school and social lives. Until you know what that is like, you have no credit on judging us. For those of you taking credit away from me. I'm not going to verbally attack you, I'm more mature. But just know this. You don't know me. You don't know my family, my friends, or my coaches. You don't know what has went into the past 13 years of my life for this sport. I am a good kid in my own eyes and in the eyes of others. I make right decision. I am not cocky, I do not showboat. You see in this video me point to my parents, AFTER I LOST. Shake Orlando's hand, and his coaches. I respect them. You need to respect us. That's why this sport is so great. Isn't it great to hear Martin Florian get all excited when I almost got that last takedown? That's this sport is about. Not about disrespect. Thanks for reading, and I hope I changed a few opinions on me. Go Hoo's!!
I would like to see the comment posted by "Smooty" removed from this comment thread. There is no place for blatant racism ANYWHERE, let alone a comment thread regarding a high school wrestling match. Whoever you are "smooty", I'm sure your bravery with anonymous racism is matched only by your cowardice to do it in person. And how happy we all are that the kid you just tried to put down will have a life 10 times greater than anything you will ever see. I'll take the kid with class over the ignorant racist any day of the week. Do everyone a favor and disappear.
He should have taken the points away. scales hit his butt and with in a second his legs where out and he was on his feet, cogar had no control of him. I do not have a biased opinion, but both Scales takedown and Cogar non takedown were the correct call.. Live with it people
Cogar is definitely a great wrestler,he put's so much hard work into wrestling. I can't see how people can say anything about Adam until they come and watch how hard he trains, and how much effort and commitment he puts out there.
When a ref gives points there is an obvious reason for it, if there wasn't he wouldn't be a ref, He shouldn't have took those points away, he was down.
Scales is a great wrestler, he wen't 47-0 thats great, but watch the video look for a shot, anything his hooks weren't working.
you take what you can get in wrestling, cogar backed out just as many times as scales, both are champions just happened on that day Orlando was the better of the two, nice job Orlando.
yall need to stop complainin bout him stalling if you guys were 1 mintue away form winning states with no stall call against yall would do the same thing scales did
Don't know anything about Orlando, but I'm sure he's a great kid. Adam is one of the finest to walk the halls of BHS. Congrats to both! On any given day, either would've won. Great job to Mariola & Morr for coaching Adam. They're to be commended!
Cogar had nothing for Scales'size. Cogar could dance around all he wants, he couldn't figure him out. Scales is a great kid that gives as much as he gets from wrestling. There wasn't a youth tourney that I didn't see him working at a table or as a coach. Congrats, Orlando!!
I liked the way the officials handled the match. Basically, they stayed out of it and let the action decide the outcome. Cogar tried and missed the headlock late in the second and it cost him the match.
Scales is a good college hvy prospect. he's long, strong, and has great hips. He needs to develop a few leg attacks and finishes.
What hit the nail on the head. Champ, you say Scales was stalling? He was trying to throw the underhooks all match, the wrestlers were equally aggressive.
Anyone who said the better wrestler did not win should quit crying and stop with the shoulda, woulda, coulda's. Everyone knows only tools do that, you have no clue what the hell might have happened had the score been tied in the 3rd period. To say Cogar is the better wrestler is retarded. Based off what are you saying this, his 3-2 loss? Absolute morons.
The better wrestler Definitely won. Cogar barely beat Orlando when he was a Soph, one more year of development was too much for him.
And that IS pretty classes running off the mat and not doing the pictures, great way to be remembered Cogar!
Cogar blocked Scales 2 on 1 attack and his underhooks. blocking with your head is not wrestling. Started to attak when he needed too, but a great scamble by Scales. Cogar is good, but come on guys Cogar was not as offensive as you make it sound. Cogar a sore loser running off the mat, then not taking pictures for the fans.. what a classless act
no doubt... scales won... still i think a double stalling should have been called in the first period... then ending in an overtime... if cogar wouldn't have pushed the pace scales would never score... and what kind of control was displayed in the takedown that was given to scales... for him to have full control he would have to of been out of bounds... how was scales not called for stalling when cogar took 3 shots to none and all blocking ties in the 3rd?
Champ, If anything was a questionable call it was that escape they gave Cogar. The better wrestler definitely won. Quit b****in and congratulate two fine wrestlers.
bad officiating... cogar was always moving while scales just tied up and did nothing... scales stalled the whole third... questionable takedown there at the end of the second... why not give stalling point to cogar and takedown wins it in ot... i just think the better wrestler did not win... the staller won
