Gable made most wrestlers look pathetic in those days. He was a solid technician. One of the, if not THE most physical wrestler of all time. Soviet wrestlers I talked with always said they hated to wrestle the Iowa style (Gable) most of all. All the head banging and relentless attacking. Gable could have competed for years after he retired and went into coaching. I know a number of Iowa wrestler who said Gable was beating up on World Champs in their wrestling room into his 40's!

first off it's freestyle you don't just stand up and try to escape second that's gable anyone wrestling gable looks pathetic

Ughhhh. This has got to be the most pathetic match I have ever witnessed. The guy Gable is wrestling is pathetic and couldn't have done more to make Gable look better if they paid him to. Terrible.

It doesn't help when your opponent balls up the entire match.
