I remember watching this match on live TV. Its a real treat to see it again 37 years later. Taylor was thought to be unbeatable back in 1972, however Medved was not to be denied his 3 rd gold medal. Medved had to be the greatest freestyle heavyweight of alltime.

can you imagine the strength of medved, to be able to move like he did against an opponent with so much weight on him is amazing.

chris was indeed a great athlete he was 412 pounds yet getting up to 420 for the olimpics he wrestled at a junior coledge in muskegon,Mi muskegon comunity

i think if chris wrestled today, he wold have been great! i dont know how much he weigh, but to be that big and move like that he would be tough to beat! mooco,rowlands whoever i put money on chris everytime

Unbelievable, Medved had some great strategy and used good technique in the match. No doubt, Taylor was the stronger of the two, but Medved was able to capatalize on balance.
