I'm really glad to see Strange doing so well. You watch someone wrestle in college and then you wonder what in the world ever happened to them? You always have a good feeling in the back of your head that whatever they're doing they're doing well, and they're also inspiring and influencing other people.
Strange beat a lot of good guys during his career, but couldn't have asked for a worse draw at the NCAA's his Senior year. That's a shame.
However, it's a enjoyment to see him during very well today.

Louis doesn't like wrestling. He's doing football in college instead of wrestling. Reports on him about football state he isn't that good and he has a lot of flaws in football. Hes a lot better at wrestling, he should have done college wrestling instead.

Louis is an amazing wrestler and football player. He deserved to win 3 state championships, Danz and Welch also deserved to win their state championships. Most people train to beat these guys and dont understand Louis is going to college to play football. he could have gone to ANY school to wrestle and he chose what he thinks he is greatest at. there are very few people that can say they won a state championship let alone three! No matter what anyone else says These 3 guys are great at what they do and i bet if ryan_x went on the mat with any of them he would lose... dont just talk about people, Leave it on the mat.

Ryan, Cental Catholic had Stevie Vasquez in the finals at state against Welch and Danz graduated last year. The fact that you imply a high school kid might have acted in a cowardice manner, leads me to believe your just looking for an arguement. Good luck trying to get under someone elses skin. Take care.

Ryan_x, you obviously are very envious of Louis Bland! You%u2019re either a kid that has been beaten by Bland or have a kid that was beaten by him? OR you are one of those %u201CMr. Know it all%u201D dad%u2019s that never got very far in wrestling?
Let me reiterate that Bland only wrestled part time%u2026.Yes PART TIME. Just imagine if that kid wrestled year around! Welch is a phenomenal wrestler but let%u2019s not take anything away from Louis Bland. You are bashing a 3X state CHAMP! Are you kidding me! How on earth can anyone have anything negative to say about that?
Oh and lastly%u2026.Bland picked the %u201Ceasy sport%u201D? did you have an option to go to any Division I school to play the sport of your choice with a full scholarship?

Bland consciously chose to go up and lift weights rather then make the cut to 171. Why? He picked football, the easy choice, over wrestling, the tough guys sport.

You don't think Bland is a coward for running from Welch and Danz rather then using it as fuel for him to go after them this year and redeem the embarrassment he suffered at their hands his junior year?

Come on, just about anybody can get a football scholarship when they hand out 85 a team.

Louis Bland should go down as one of the best wrestlers in California history.
He is a Three time state champion and Four time finalist. All this in a single division state meet that is regarded as one of the toughest in the nation. He did not wrestle year round and played varsity football since his Freshman year. Give credit where credit is due. He is a great wrestler, great football player, great student and more importantly a great kid. Good luck to all the Central Catholic wrestlers that are seniors and moving on to the next level. Also, good luck to Adam V on his new endeavour, Pitman is lucky to have you.

I know welch plays football. Bland doesn't wrestle as much as Welch does, it is a clear fact. I think Welch is one the best high wrestlers that Caliofrnia has seen. I was just simiply trying to to tell you that Bland did not get worse, and Welch improved a lot. Welch weighs 165 soaking wet, while Bland weighs at least 205, I highly doubt that Louis was running away from Welch. They were both fun to watch wrestle and I wish them best of luck next year.

I am sorry Louis Bland did not get worse. Ryan_x you have no clue what your talking about. Bland did not wrestle Justin Danz his freshmen year or sophomore year. He wrestled his brother his freshmen year Jordan Danz and beat him. Louis only wrestles four months out of the year, he rather concentrate on football. Welch and Danz wrestled year around, they did improve a lot, but it is not fair to say Louis got worse, those guys just improved a lot! People keep forgetting that Louis pinned Welch at the Lemoore Bash there freshmen year. They were one and one against each other in High School. There is very few people who can say they were a FOUR time finalist at the California State wrestling tournament, give the guy some credit. Steve strange has done a nice job at Central Catholic and I only have the utmost respect for him and Central wrestling program.

Because he OWNED Danz and Welch his freshman and sophomore years. Then his Junior year and beyond, they own him and his moves to 189 to try to duck the best in the state.

Program can't be that good if a guy gets progressively worse in it.

Hey CC: I'm a little disappointed to say the least!
Yes Steve is our Head coach, but our assistant coach contributed beyond recognition, and hearing that he is leaving is a tremendous loss for our team. Only because of the ethics and principles as well as morality that this DUO together has previously installed is the reason we will continue to achieve our goals and prosper as a team.
I will continue to appreciate and respect Adam for his effort and contribution to our team and I only wish him the best in his new endeavors%u2026.
