anyone who is unbiased cannot look at rod balch's career in wrestling and say he hasn't had a positive impact. you may not like him personally or know him personally but he is a good coach who did alot of good at chs before transferring to bhs and making an impact there. tirepele took over where balch left off and has continued the good work balch started and chs. there are very good coaches who have had their names dragged through the mud because of personal differences and unhealthy rivalries. tirapele, balch, riley, pierce, morales, are just a few. so if the fences were truly mended, these coaches wouldn't still be the topic of everyone's negative comments. they would be recognized as the good coaches they are and left to move on to another program or to continue their quest for 9 in 09.

Nope   June 8, 2008 at 2:16am
your wrong, i do want the two teams to get along that's why i call bs on the parents who say they already have mended the fences and then talk bad about the team as soon as an opportunity pops up. those are the people who keep the feud going, not me, the ones who refuse to see any problems that exist because all is well in whatever dream world they live in. ct might be good for bhs, but so far the problems he's caused outnumber the good things he's done. steve tirepele may be good for chs but the hard feelings he's caused in the trac outnumber some of the good things he's done. i'm no expert just a trac fan and very curious observer. with so many good teams in such a small area it's normal for there to be a competitive nature to the teams, but the way these teams act toward each other is embaring to the central valley. having parents and fans tearing each other up on flo doesn't help either i've been called unaccountable, uncredible, riley, pierce, morales, balch, negative, idiot, and my personal favorite weak because i don't talk to the ceremello guy who has become the chs spokesperson. i say if your going to put anything on here at least be honest, chs and bhs still boo each other, argue constantly, fight about everything from timeouts, water breaks, disputes with rules on the mat, attitudes, recruiting, transfers, parent support, just sit in the stands and listen, you'll be an expert too. i've been around this sport for over 30 years, i've seen alot but what these two teams have put eachother through in the last 4-5 years is rediculous.

i didn't post the post about someone being an idiot, plus no i don't know anymore than a huge track supporter would the trac teams were something to be proud of about 4 or 5 years ago but the coaches, fans and parents have made wresling in the trac an embarrasment in the last several years. if you've been around enough you get to know all the players in this soap opera that we call trac wresling now and you don't have to be smart to see the problems just sit at a tournament and watch the bhs fans look everywhere but the mat when a clovis kid is wresling and listen to the two teams boo each other with every win watch the coaches smile and make nice but talk crap later. then when you come on any forum all we hear is how great clovis is and how negative bucanan is but how they have mended fences, tell it to someone who will believe it

back it up back it up back it up, you sound like a broken record first off only about half of the posts from nope are mine, second i don't have to put my name on here to state the obvious. if there is a negative statement on here every clovis fan jumps on it and calls that person riley or peirce or a bhs supporter, including you. then you want to talk about mending fences and how the parents are so happy with the new coach that lead them to a state championship, oh that's right he didn't. half the team won't listen to him, won't shake his hand, and talk openly about how they don't respect him, but you want us to believe the team loves him because you signed your name and one parent is happy with him and they told you about of course. we'll see how much love there is for him in how many bhs wreslers stay next year. then your statement will have credibility. anyone who puts their name on here is ridiculed, called names, and attacked ferociously, and you wonder why nobody else wants to put their name, don't wonder anymore. you must have a personal problem with the former coaches of bhs, riley peirce, morales, and balch, but why can't you keep that private, they aren't involved in the school anymore. but they also had some other really good coaches that fell victem to ct's juvinile rantings, what about silva, zhan, lugo? they didn't fight with anyone and they were let go. i'm just an observor and i know what i see, what most of us see when looking at these teams and the fence is not mended, but since ceremello is the spokesperson for chs and he says it is i guess we should all believe him because he signed his name.

that would be the OLD Buchanan staff not the new one. Riley,Pearce,Balch, and Morales. Maybe daddy Balch stepping onto the mat during Andrews matches to dispute calls when he is was NOT a coach had something to do with Andrew not shaking his hand, I can't imagine CT being to happy about daddy butting in. Once at Valley and at Masters. Those two were loyal to Riley not CT, maybe there was some bitter feelings over that also. You forgot the H in that bs statement. Like I said parents on that team that I talked to were VERY happy with CT. The fences are not mended for you, that is obvious.
reply
#257
Nope   June 6, 2008 at 11:21am
i think that i'm calling bs on all of you because you say the teams have mended the fences and they are getting along now because of ct but when someone posts something you don't like you were really quick to accuse them of being from bucanan. ct did such a good job with two wrestlers who wouldn't even shake his hand after their wins in the finals that is what all the rest of us saw. so talk all you want about how the team loves ct and the fences have been mended because everyone knows it's not true.

I would love for you to go call CT a butt kisser and a joke to his face. You are one of those people that you say are "stabbing a knife in the back" it just happens to be CTs right now, probably will be mine soon. The parents I talk to from Buchanan like CT. After the Zinkin this last year CT and Steve got both teams together to start mending fences, the parents that were left there that I talked to, from both sides, seemed happy. Since that tournament I started to see a change in the interaction between the schools, not all of the people, but enough to make a noticable difference. When Buchanan was at Las Vegas this last year I and most I know wanted Buchanan to be successful and win that tournament. Most were happy they did well. If Buchanan chooses not to cheer for Clovis than that is their choice and vise a versa but there at least seems to be more common respect between the two. With the exeception of you. You must be from Buchanan becuase I don't hear that on the Clovis side, anymore.

clovis will never cheer for bucanan and bucanan won't cheer for them. they pretend to put there differences aside since ct started kissing butt to everyone in the trac but they all think he's a joke and worse than that is his team hates him and most of them are leaving because of him. bhs has gone through stuff because ct ran off all the coaches that were left after their coaches got fired. the whole clovis wresling scene is a bunch of people patting each other on the back smiling to each others faces and stabbing a knife in your back while they do it. sick man, just sick.

To Set The Record Straight

This is a breakdown of Coach T's Move-In & Transfer vs. Home Grown State place winners over the last seven seasons. You can view the individual student athletes at http://www.cloviswrestling.com

For this analysis the Coach's son is excluded. Technically he is a transfer, but is a justified transfer. Analysis Excludes Tirapelle:

SPW=State Place Winners T=Transfer-Move In C=Clovis-Home Grown

2002: 2 SPW; 2T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis
2003: 6 SPW; 5T - 1C; 83% Transfer / 17% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Boundary Change
2004: 3 SPW; 3T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Moved
2005: 1 SPW; 1T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis
2006: 4 SPW; 2T - 2C; 50% Transfer / 50% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Moved

Here is the list that I have compiled as to where our Clovis area teachers, coaches, and administrators have occasionally frequented an Friday afternoons. We affectionately refer to them as "staff development or debriefings" in any case, it is also called appy Hour by these fine establishments. Yosemite Falls, Cool Hand Luke's, Peacock Restuarant, Jimbo's, 500 Club, Jim's Place, Good Fellas, Tuffy's, Michaelangelo's, Henry's, Kimmie's, Bobby Salazar's, and Grog's. Keep in mind that these little get-togethers take place about once every 2-3 weeks apart. Everybody always conducts themselves properly, and with class. It isn't a big deal as it is done by groups of faculties from all levels of education. Quite often the vast majority of us are wearing shirts that identify us as being members of any particular school. On Fridays most of us wear jeans and school shirts. We openly and proudly advertise our school affiliations. Hope that explains "the drinking" accusations. If you were there and saw us out, you were probably tossing back a few cold one yourself.

So far all I have been reading from both sides is you cheat,no you cheated first, well this is how you cheated ,and then from the other side, this is how you cheated. Then the personal attacks about drinking
,and having to much fun,and who's watching the kids! Kids transfer and they do not do it on their own, so who is to blame I know its the Liberals those a$$holes have a had in everything! The funny thing is we all know most teams that are good have someone recruit for them be the parents or the kids themselves, just like we all know about redshirting, but these are wrestlings dirty little secrets and our sections will do little to curb these actions, so we go on business as usual, and we wonder why we are looked at as a second tear sport. We have to be better than those other big money sports when it comes to ETHICS and that is something that has been lacking in this thread ethics!

This is my first official post on Flowrestling, so here it goes. As for the stats deal: I had nothing to do with them or know where they came from. Buchanan might not of won a state championship without the Bogers. Just like Clovis might not have won their last 2 state titles without their transfers. Transfers happen, it's how they get to the schools of choice where people seem to have the problem.
The drinking comment was a hoot, since all of my friends and the people close to me know since I have had 2 heart attacks, that I can't drink more than one drink and I rarely do that. Now if you are talking about my college days then I am guilty as charged...lol
Finaly, I know not everyone is going to like me, that's the nature of the beast, does it bother me, sure on some level, but I am human. Please do not include my name on here, this is getting old, if you have something negative to say to me please contact me personaly at

Yes, great coaches. Snapp did a great job with the kids at Firebaugh, then at Clark. He's coached a number of outstanding kids that are now wrestling Varsity at Clovis HS. Tyler Ceremello, Cameren Kelley, Ben Omata, Jonathan Gay, Ben Kelley, Vincent Rubio (Lemoore) Jeremy Simons, Alec Dieter, Tommy Burriel, Brandon Ferrera, Scott Sakaguchi, and Stephen Weimer just to name a few. If memory serves me right, those kids have been on very good teams, including the last State Championship team. When he wasa the assistant coach at Fresno City College, they won the California State JC title, and he was given the "Assistant Coach of the Year" award. Obviously he knows what he is doing. Jason Pearce has been a big contributer to several outstanding teams at BHS. That includes two 5th place teams, and 2nd and 3rd place teams. TRAC champs for 9 years, and 8 or 9 dual meet wins over rival CHS. That's what I can see through my foggy glasses. I do know who I can and can't trust. Why would you suggest differently? Why would it be nice for me to leave the area? Had enough of what? You are obviously a condescending bottom dweller with no dignity. If you feel like talking to me, my number is 327-1610

Whoever pointed out that Pearce was at Disneyland was just explaining why he was not the person making posts. That is not necessarily a defense of him, but a statement of fact that basically eliminated him as your target of accusations. The language and hateful comments on this forum is becoming apalling. It seems to be one sided as well. I am speaking of the CHS posters. People don't care for that kind of dialogue. Doc Buchanan always espoused humbleness as an attribute in sports, I don't see that as the case at the moment. I see low class comments way too often.

Be a humble champion?? Are you freakin' kidding me? CHS is getting attacked at every turn on here. And you blame them for getting defensive?? After all this crap, screw humble. And screw you all. CHS is made up of a bunch of great, hard working kids who have absolutely no control over how the adults around them conduct themselves. How about we stop bashing their accomplishment and get behind THE KIDS! Congrats to the Clovis High boys, no matter where you came from, you worked hard, came together as a team and acheived your goal. And the beauty of it is that none of these jerks can take that from you.

A question for the math man. Is this wrong? If it is, show us where it is messed up? >>>>

28 Medals: 20T - 8C; 71% Transfers / 29% Clovis
***Apply the three medals on an enter-district transfer to Clovis: 17T - 11C; 61% Transfer / 39% Clovis

The greatest contributing factor to an outward appearance of success is Multiple State Place Winners. In these years: 8 Multiple SPW; 7T - 1C; 87% Transfer / 13% Clovis: 17 Medals; 88% Transfers / 12% Clovis

These are not distorted numbers.

From 1998-2001 (%u201998 was coach T%u2019s first season):
12 state medals %u2013 4 years (3 medals/year)
12 %u201Cclovis%u201D medals
*i tend to label the coach's son a "homegrown" medal

From 2002-2008:
31 state medals %u2013 7 years (4.4 medals/year)
14 %u201Cclovis%u201D medals
7 moved after Jr high
6 moved after attending another hs (4 were hs in clovis unified)
4 moved after being state contestants

verdict = lots of success no matter how you slice it...Snapp

To Set The Record Straight

This is a breakdown of Coach T's Move-In & Transfer vs. Home Grown State place winners over the last seven seasons. You can view the individual student athletes at http://www.cloviswrestling.com

For this analysis the Coach's son is excluded. Technically he is a transfer, but is a justified transfer. Analysis Excludes Tirapelle:

SPW=State Place Winners T=Transfer-Move In C=Clovis-Home Grown

2002: 2 SPW; 2T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis
2003: 6 SPW; 5T - 1C; 83% Transfer / 17% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Boundary Change
2004: 3 SPW; 3T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Moved
2005: 1 SPW; 1T - 0C; 100% Transfer / 0% Clovis
2006: 4 SPW; 2T - 2C; 50% Transfer / 50% Clovis ***One Transfer could be Considered Clovis, Residence Clovis East Area, Moved
2007: 5 SPW; 3T - 2C; 60% Transfer / 40% Clovis
2008: 7 SPW; 4T - 3C; 57% Transfer / 43% Clovis

How many wrestlers have left Clovis High to go to another program? It seems everyone wants to get to Clovis? Everyone on the outside that slams Clovis has no clue what it is like on the inside! They have turned the Jr High program around in 2 years and will continue to see good kids continue to feed in. It's not rocket science guys, the work ethics of these kids and coaches is key. They seem to have the ability to turn average kids into good kids. The kids just seem to buy into the Tirapelle System. Good luck to all these boys in 09.

No coach is dumb enough to use money from the budget to wine and dine a parent. Or to help them rent a house. For years we have followed and admired Clovis wrestling. Without a doubt, your program is the best in the state and one of the best in the nation. No one is able to match the feeder program your community has placed together. Selma, on the other hand, is a small but proud community. All we want is to compete against the best. At this time, Clovis would be our best competition. It's a shame that Clovis has decided to bann Selma from their tournaments? The reasons given for this action are nothing more than excuses. This would only hurt the level and quality of competition at these events. Doesn't Clovis pride itself in promoting quality tournaments? This also deprives the fans from Clovis, and the state, the opportunity to view the best local competition.

We believe that the almighty "Aflacs" determination for not wanting "Selma" was the fact that Hussein pointed out he steve was cheater and called him out and on a few occasions told steve to get off the mat when selma was wrestling his clovis boys.Hussein was tired of steve and his antics and stepped up and called him a cheater.Steve has used his almighty Clovis rules authority to tell slap other programs with threats of not being inviited to the Doc b in the future. Many cow down to steve and have succumed to his threats however not selma he said steve you are a cheater!

if steve was x'd out of the equation and some party who was 100% neutral ran the pairing and tourney lineup the clovis wrestlers themselves would be fine with that and most probably are wishing for a miracle that "aflac" would move on down the road and pick up a job at dinuba as an assistant and he would be ok with that because they have a great tournament that steve reccomends everyone to come to

Coach Tirapelle,
You cant keep selma down, do you believe that keeping selma out of your own tournament the Doc B which you also are at the controls with for seeding and do your work to insure a clovis team win will be satisfying ? when the small selma school and everyone around will be saying well selma might have won this tournament I just wonder if the coach Tirapelle was not such a their could've been a possibility selma would've showed everyone

All Selma has to do is walk into the Clovis tournaments and weigh in. Of course they will be told that they were not invited. Selma just has to respond with, "Hey we are highly ranked studs from Selma, you have to let us in." It sounds arrogant, but it has worked for other teams in the past.

Guess what creampuff, nobody needs your permission to have an opinion. I'm a grown assed man and even I think you guys are recruiting. Your missing the point everyone is tired of watching people move into your school district for whatever the reason is the state to AD. It's been allowed to run rampant in the Central section for years. Maybe the other teams coaching staff not being intact is a step in the right direction and more schools need to take that lead. Or maybe schools need to crack down on moves into there school district. Your missing the point of why people go to high school. It's to get an education and not for wrestling. So if you don't like the accusations stop walking and quacking like a duck.

If they are doing all this, why is this coaching staff still in tact when another schools coaching staff is not? Your missing the point why people move, it is to get better and be coached by some of the best in the State or would even say West Coast. Stop with the recruiting accusations unless you can back it up!

who cares about the cook kid transferring to the senior majority leaders school this is all wasted breath about nothing.Wow you should see all the new transfers working out at cw right now and no one is aying a thing about those kids who are now in the room from other places.Who cares so what these coaches are gonna get paid either way. It's all about money and publicity if an exceptional athlete comes in the school gets it props and at the end of the day the school makes some money from another student who attends. These coaches with the exclusion of the all knowing senior master get paid peanuts to coach and work on slave wages "Why dont some of you parents shut up and and start writing some checks out to these poor underpaid coaches going into this summer the coaches are gonna be expected to develop your athlete and work for peanuts lets kick in some extra money now and pay up these coaches so they can afford to lend their time to make sure your kid can get a college scholarship thru wrestling. You do your job as a parent and start financially supporting these coaches , believe me they are not to proud to accept a check or two with some zeros on the end...
Quit complaining and start paying so we can all bear to deal with this non sense on the internet

Listen... The Cook family should be able to do what they think is best.. trust me I know!!..of course rules should always apply, the problem is there is NO set rules... A certain person will make up the rules as he goes !!.and tends to favor one school!! . very unfair.. When Rodriguez left because of Zimmer there were no accusations of being recruited was there?? When Cook leaves it's because he was recruited?? It will be a tough road for the Cook family if they decide to leave..very unfair.. it is a big committment to pick up and move to another school!... I know NOTHING about the Cook family but this will be a tough road.. worth it?? in my opinion.. he*l yea!!.. On the Zimmer note.. I feel very sorry for his family.. His wife is a absolute doll and the boys are great!!Please stop the bashing.. it not only affects Brad, it affects the whole family... just the right thing to do... and at the end of the day.. they are only kids.....we tend to make things bigger than it really is!!..settle down.. enjoy your kids... !!

I am so sorry if that's the way my post came acroos. That was certainly not my intent.

Coaches SHOULD be held accountable for what goes on with their team - including recruiting.

But i do believe kids and families should have the right to do what is best for them with in CIF rules. That means a whole house move. And those kids and families should not be persecuted for thier choices. This is a free country and these are public schools.

And please note my original post wishing him success NO MATTER WHAT COLOR HE IS WEARING. And that's exactly what i mean

Bless you: You just supported slamming Zim and at the same time indirectly promoted the transfer of a CW wrestler to another school. No, we should not all have the choice to transfer unless it is a full family moce. Chaos within the school districts would be the order of the day. It is also about what is best for your favorite school isn' it? You are not fooling us with your religious rightiousness, your agenda is clear. Use God and prayers to justify your support of tampering with other schools athletes. In my church, you would be branded a backslider.

Cook is a great kid, a great wrestler, from a great family. He deserves our respect on and off the mat. No matter what school he attends. And he and his family deserve the right to make a choice that works for them. Especially if they had to move, or even if their current program isn't working for them.

We should ALL have that choice!!!!

From what I'm hearing all over the place, not just here, I wouldn't want my kid anywhere near Zimmer.

It's about what's best for the kid.

God help you all if you find yourself in a similar predicament and people feel they can sit in judgement.

Here's praying Cook and his family make the decision that's best for him, and wishing him all the success in the world .... no matter what colors he is wearing!!!!!!!
