So Iowa had no champs, were very beatable, and STILL won Nationals? Wow, they must be head and shoulders above tOSU and every other program in the country.

2nd place is the first loser.

I think the most important thing you high school kids out there need to understand about what Coach Humphrey is saying is the emphasis on grades. Don't expect wrestling to give you the money to attend college. You can get a lot more academic money to go to the school of your choosing by hitting the books and being a solid student in high school. Recruiting the 3.5 over the 2.5 DOES happen now, especially with the APR.

If you're cruising through high school at the bare minimum, don't expect to get a wrestling ride to cover things. So those of you out there, HIT THE BOOKS. Don't expect a half-ride with only 9.9 to go around to be given to you. Best way to get into college to wrestle -- get the academic money and grants and financial aid. That's step one into getting noticed. Get noticed by the admissions and scholarship folk. It's just as important was winning.

Coach Hump talks about his wrestling club, his son Reece and even makes some statements about the Buckeyes and how they will take home the title next year.
