OSU Vs. Kent. Probably just a scheduling conflict on OSU's part. I think some people might be trying to read to much into it.
Zebulin Miller said: This is about KSU not Ohio State. If they wrestle good, if not, who cares. Coach Ryan is obviously not affraid of KSU. For whatever the reason they are not wrestling it is probably a good one. Let's keep things positive for both programs. TJ, I still owe you shirts, I will get it taken care of.
Thanks Zeb! You are awesome. And I agree with you, my point stated in humor is who cares about comparing KSU to OSU. Coach Andrassy has done an amazing job bringing yet another Ohio college program up to a high level of excellence (much as Coach Ryan did at OSU) and we Ohioans should all be proud of Coach A and his team!

Dear Ohio Loses: Let's take a different approach, a more investigative one to this issue of Tom Ryan "ducking" Kent State. We must consider ALL angles before arriving at the conclusion that is being implied on this forum, i.e. Tom Ryan is scared of Kent State. There could be other reasons Coach Ryan didn't return Coach A's calls, right? Maybe Ryan didn't pay his Verizon/AT&T;bill and doesn't have access to Coach A's messages? Have you seen the taxes on these darn cell phone bills, I don't blame the guy, the rates are ridiculous! How about this angle, maybe Ryan doesn't know how to access his voicemail? How do you know he is a savvy cell phone guy like yourself. That's complicated stuff setting up voicemail! How about something more bizarre, maybe Ryan accidentally gave Coach A his "mistress" cell phone number by mistake, you know guys, the second cell phone that your wife or girlfriend doesn't know anything about. Maybe Coach A has been calling the mistress cell phone and since Ryan is "between mistresses" at the moment, he hasn't been checking that phone. I mean, the guy is probably busy with recruiting season heating up, who has time for mistresses right now man! Here's another: Maybe Coach A has been dialing the last digit wrong and by a massive cooincidence, he is calling some poor sap named Tom Ryan BUT not COACH Tom Ryan. Aren't all these scenarios possible? See Ohio Loses, you have to consider ALL scenarios before jumping to conclusions. That is how an investigative journalist works.
So how does Ohio State leaving Kent State off of their schedule help wrestling in Ohio? Maybe some doubt is creeping in the head of tOSU after last years dual with KSU. It seems Tom Ryan Fan has all the answers, I mean COME ON? Explain this move by tOSU.
Let's just say that Coach Andrassy (and Coach Ryan) have brought a TON of pride and honor back to the great state of Ohio in college wrestling and leave it at that.
IF IF IF IF IF IF IF......."if mitcheff wins?" how about if morrison doesnt blow lead with 2 seconds left or if jaggers doesnt get the most ridiculous pin called on him in 30 seconds. goes both ways buddy. You can frame any dual meet to make it appear as if the team u are pulling for could have won if 1, 2 or 10 scenarios play out. At this dual actually 5 out of about 6 ideal situations happened for Kent and they still lost. Bottom line is the buckeyes underperformed badly and still won the dual. Most college duals are 5-5 or 6-4 anyway.
Dual results look pretty close, Mitcheff wins his match against Hump then KSU wins the dual- COME NOW TOM RYAN FAN-This dual should not be this close, this is a result of on their heelism!

You are right Zeb he has done a great job there. That was not my point, my point is that you can't say they are on there heels when you look at that. Like I said he has done an awsome job and I do give him credit, but I am just sticking up for my buckeyes because when someone says that a team that has finished 2nd two times and a 10th in the last three years is even close to a team that has only had 2 AA's and not even a single top 10 finish.... Come on Zeb
I would love to compare their budgets! It would look very similiar to the accomplishments, but Ryan did make it happen at Hofstra (with a small budget). We are talking about a place where they had no AA's for 23 years! Tom Ryan came to tOSU two years removed from a 3rd place finish, he did not have to rebuild anything! Jim had to change 20 years of inmates running the asylum. Lets at least give credit where credit is due!
The last 3 years since Tom Ryan has been in Columbus

Coach Andrassy talks about the mental toughness that he is trying to build at KSU and how important Matt Hill has been to developing this. We also get an inside look at the schedule and what Coach Andrassy is doing to be a kinder and gentler Coach. May 8, 2009
