Bio:	Zeke Jones grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a child he was influenced by older brother, Johnny, who wrestled at Iowa State and was a two time national champion. As a child he was influenced by older brother, Johnny, who wrestled at Iowa State and was a two time national champion. His family also worked in the automotive industry and thus he experienced a blue collar upbringing. As very young child Zeke knew that he wanted to wrestle and began to excel in high school where he won a state championship his senior year. He broke from his brother?s path and went to Arizona State where he wrestled under Bobby Douglas. At Arizona State he helped lead Arizona State to a national championship. This was the first and last team from the west to win a NCAA wrestling Division I program. In college didn?t reach his goal of being a NCAA champion as he fell just short being a runner up. Yet after college he continued to train with much higher goals of wrestling for the USA. In 1991 Zeke Jones had perhaps one of the greatest matches in USA history where he beat Gerogio Vallentin a 7x World to become the world champion. Zeke didn?t stop there and went on to wrestle in the Olympics in Barcelona where he took a silver medal. In the years after Zeke went on to be a part of many more world teams until 1997 when he retired and went into coaching. As a coach Zeke Jones has coached the national World Team and Olympic teams for the USA. In 2005-6 Season Zeke Jones became head coach of University of Penn wrestling team where his team instantly began working towards success.

#11	KEN May 4 at 4:39pm i am not privy to what Zeke is doing. But Russia, Iran, Cuba financially sponsor their wrestlers so that there only concern is wrestling. This is not the case in the USA. You get a small stipend not sure what the amounts are now. Maybe 24k a year which is taxable as well. How can someone live off of that and be expected to travel and train with the best. the top wrestlers need to be supported financially. USA wrestling must cringe each time askren is in a MMA match. He has gold medal potential but no financial support. My hunch is US wrestlers would benefit by living and training in Russia for 6 months Cuba for 6 months. reply

A, the aformentioned countires offer the essenital incentives no one wants to talk about: prostitutes, cigars, and booze to be enjoyed as long as their athletes win. Oh, and food for thier families. B, Zeke is currently being sued by Michael J. Fox for trademark infringement on his haircut. reply

#5	MiGuy May 3 at 6:13am Duckunder, i've heard Dave Dean say the same thing about the Cubans wrestling on dirt floors. He thinks the focus is so much on the money aspect meanwhile the coaching end in the USA hasn't evolved. Your opinion is the second time I have heard this. reply
#4	Jfrizzle May 2 at 10:43pm i don't know about you guys, but i really was worried when there was this whole shakeup at USA wrestling. Don't get me wrong, it was time for KJ to go. I wish Terry could have taken over. But after hearing Zeke discuss these impending announcements, I have to admit, I'm pretty excited. In order to compete with the Russians and return to the top of the podium we are going to have to pay our athletes commisurate with the Russians and at least what they could make in MMA. If we do that, we can keep our best athletes in wrestling and really start to transition them into fs machines. We'll see what these announcements are. But I'm intrigued... reply

In trying to make us competitive with the Russians we need to do more than just work on technique we need to understand the system and restructure it to a different vision. Zeke Jones explains and hints at some announcements that USA Wrestling is getting ready to make.
