It is way below 0.8% chance of making it. More like 0.04% chance.

Your point says it all "Look at Collegiate wrestlers from around the country: Billy Murphy, Jayson Ness, Mike Grey, Alex Trsistis, Kyle Borshoff, J.P Occonor, Colt Sponseller, Shane Onufer, David Craig, Tyrelle Fortune, Ben Berhow...None of these guys will ever be National Champs. Its crazy to think about."

% Of Making It   April 13 at 8:32pm
Ya, you can say everyone has a chance at being a ncaa champ, but in reality only about 0.8% does.......
There in lies the beauty of sports. Its all about the journey. In the end 99.2% of the wrestling world are NOT going to be champs, but hopefully they had fun trying to be! (atleast a free education)

I think those statistics have as much to do with opportunity as they do with personality. It takes a certain mindset to wrestle in college and an even more rare mind set to be a national champ.

Everyone has a chance to make it as long as you want it and you're extremely committed and dedicated.

Your saying that 1 out of 100 wrestlers that start at age 8 make it to the collegiate level???

I'd say less. Count how many high school programs we have and then how many collegiate programs. 1 out of 100 HS wrestlers don't even make it.
The statistics of being a National Champ are even crazier. You basically have no shot statistically speaking.

I'd say 1 out of 100 stay with it and make it to the Collegiate level...

Disagree?
