Camp has a single that looks almost unstopable, but i will say this macintosh is a beast and i think he would beat this kid no doubt he would. Macintosh is way too big and never gets tired Mac Mancuso couldve won if he just pushed the match a little harder. Campalattano does'lt look so good when he stands up i don't think he'll escape from Macintosh, unless he cuts him. Camp is a good wrestler and he just proved it there.
as i said morgan macintosh will beet andrew camp, if u watch macintosh his ass does not get tired and shots get better in the 3rd period wen camp will be tired
the person who said billy george would beat camp obviously didnt see them wrestle at the state freestyle ranking tournament it was clear how far supirior camp was from billy
Louie you do the seeding? What is the matter with you. You cant possibly agree with how they do it. IT is a damn shame how your guys so called system screws kids every year and then you congratulate each other on a job well done. Screw the 2 brackets and screw separeting same region placewinners and then you might have real outcomes. Right now all that matters is where your spot is. I have seen kids place 5th or 6th and never even beat a region champ in the whole tournament. It is a crock of $hit and you know it. There is no bonus to winning the region. There is no advantage to winning the region, you guys are ruining the tournament. You seem to have great enthusiasm for the sport! THEN HELP FIX THE CROCK OF $HIT SEEDING CRITERIA FOR STATES. Answer this question? Who gets higher seed? The year is 2009 and the weight class is 125, wrestler A took 5th at 103 in 2007 and wrestler B took 6th at 125 in 2008. By NJSIAA rules wrestler A gets higher seed. Now you cant tell me that isnt bull$hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
his age has nothing to do with anything. he just turned 17 now and is wrestling seniors anyway so it makes no difference. when he just turned 16 before states last year he was wrestling seniors that were 18. stop talking about his age because it makes no difference

YOUR CAREER WILL ONE OF THE MOST STORIED IN THE HISTORY OF NJ WRESTLING, FROM YOUR THRILLING REGION FINAL AS A FRESHMAN WHEN YOU BEAT 2X DE STATE CHAMP JAMELLE JONES TO YOUR FINAL ENCORE IN THIS FINAL VICTORY, DISGUISED AS TRAGIC DEFEAT. YOU ARE ALREADY A LEGEND.... THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION, THAT HAS GIVEN THIS DIE HARD FAN SO MUCH EXCITEMENT
Hey that jamelle Jones was also a Junior College Natinal champ in 2008 for St Louis Meremac, MO....MAC definitely didnt beat a sluch thats kids good
yes he took his opponent down but under stalling rules in the nhfs rule book states if a wrestler repeatedly uses the same move it can be considered stalling. I have watched this video five times and the official made the correct call. He made no attempt to breakdown his opponent and start a pinning manuver.
There are major differences between Campo and Grey. Campo as far as I'm told was held back to a hectic early life. He started wrestling late, I'm not sure of which year but It might be as late as 3rd grade. He wrestled an in upperclassman weight class his Freshman year without a ton of experience whereas Grey wrestled a Frosh weight class with years of wrestling under his belt. I'm not knocking Grey but this is how I see it.
well, whoever is 19 in high school and has that big of an advantage is just not fair for the rest of the kids. Also, it's bigger for camp because he has the potential to be a 4 time champ that's undefeated. Naturally he will get the most attention. I don't think it's fair if any kid is 19 and wrestling in high school. 19, that's really amazing to still be in high school, unless you failed. Nobody should be held back in kindergarten if they are already 5 years old, you should only be 4 if you want to held back.
What alot of you '"fans" don't realize is that Campo is the same as Grey. Grey was 18 on the first day of classes his senior year and Campo will be as well. Grey's b-day happens to be in May. Campo's b-day happens to be in January. So while Campo will be 19 coming into AC, Grey was 19 shortly after AC.
Good match. I'd like to see Campolattano against Tony Dallago or Jon Fausey from PA. Dallago beat Mancuso 9-4 in the Beast semi-finals, which can be seen on flo.
t goat said: Yeah, but did you hear what Huntley's doin next year? He's taking a "Hi-school redshirt" before the clock starts on college.
This age thing is insane. Not too many "underaged" wrestlers at top of their grade level.
It is rare but it does happen. I grew up in PA and when my brother won his second state title he had just turned 17 during. He was a red-shirted his freshman year of college because he was still 17 and did not turn 18 until Oct. of that year.
Now this was 25 yrs ago but even then it still happened.
Chris Phillips will be a 189lber next season that would make for a good match. Let see Monroevilles fab four go to the Beast. Get Campolattano to show up also. I might even make the trip to Delaware for that.
hahn would beat camp imo. Hahn was just on a different level that camp hasn't reached yet. Remember, camp just beat newman of toms river north 6-4 or 4-2 i can't remember where newman took him down in the match. Last year winston beat newman 10-3 and should have majored him. camp isn't there yet, but he's getting there. By 19, he should be good, of course, he would be college aged in high school, as are quite a few others, which is wrong.
camp is 17... and as for huntley blair has a thing where you have to be in the school for 2 years (i don't know the specifics) but since he entered as a senior he has to take a pg year. plus the fact he is a young senior, and if anyone has a chance to get the coaching from buxton for an extra year why not go for it.
if you didn't like this match, the crowd, the announcers and flow for giving this to us... you... you pretty much suck. Beast match! Mac almost had him reversed to his back at the end. wish him best of luck in college. Let the Hahn vs camp talk begin! I'll take Camp.
great match. both guys need to get in better shape especially Mancuso. He gave his legs away. But Camp. has more heart!! He reached deep inside in that third period . the great ones do that.
HARD TO IMAGINE ANYONE BEATING CAMP IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS BUT IF HE MOVES UP TO 215 AND WRESTLES SOME QUALITY KIDS WHO ARE CUTTING TO GET TO 215 COULD BE LIKE LYNCH AGAINST COVINGTON..

Awesome match, Camp is amazing. I thought Mancuso was really going to pin him there for a couple of seconds, but Camp rebounded very nicely. No doubt in mind that he becomes New Jersey's first undefeated four time state champ, unless something catastrophic happens. Mancuso was the last line of defense, but Camp is just incredible in neutral and really controlled the match when both wrestlers were in neutral. Great match.
Camp is not that young. He is 17, that's only a year younger than when scott winston won his third state title at 18. Camp is a great wrestler, hard to imagine that he would be undefeated if he was a normal soph's age which is 15/16. It's not just him, there is quite a few other wrestlers that do it. Who graduates high school at 19 anyway, unless you failed? My friends and I were held back in kindergarten at 5 and we still graduated high school at 18. I know plenty of sophs in college that are 19, it just doesn't really make sense if you ask me.
That was 2 years ago Huntley has been under the influence of coach buxton and was a double champ at ironman and beast of the east were the kid he beat in the finals major decision mancuso in the semi's
Perry beats Huntley, Huntley beats Camp
tony dallago arent you a sr? and you did lose to a nj kid in the beast ? you barley beat mancuso and your talking about a soph who won a state champ more sound then you beat the same kid ?
joe piro ... seriosuly the kid is a soph in high school. I mean i dunno wanna sound harsh but shut your mouth. There were 3 kids all this good and one got 6th. 6th and won the freestlye nationals.
yes, and who was in his corner for that one... me. but you're going to tell me that huntley hasn't improved at all in the 2 years since they wrestled. it was a good match then and it would be a good math now. i'm not saying camp wouldn't win again i'm saying it would be a good match. but apparently according to you if someone beats someone once then it's all over and the other guy immediately gets worse and can't compete against the victor. that's just a stupid comment
Two amazing athletes and wrestlers going at it here. However, Campolattano is just something else. I have never seen a sopre so athletically developed at such a young age. Does this kid play any football as well? I could definatly see him as a running back or linebacker. I am rooting for this kid, would love to see history made in the next two years!
sting said: Why did Mac get the #1 seed? How do you seed the reigning champion #2? I know Mac wasn't there last year but Camp wasn't there 2 years ago when Mac won it. Fishy but Camp fought through it...GREAT Match!! Classic!!
The "reigning champ" only placed in States once. Mac placed 6th to go along w/his 1st. They are separation seeds. Mac is T1 & Camp is B1. There's nothing fishy about it. I, along w/others, do the seeds so please don't go posting lies about what goes on in NJ wrestling.
yea he beat max huntley 2 years ago in freestyle. Thats a totally different style then folkstyle. Plus i am sure max has gotten even better from this year at Blair.

If he wins out he will be the best wrestler in the history of nj and hopefully an olympic and national champ no doubt in my mind great job camp good luck it was fun being your quarterback for the past couple years c u in class buddy.
camp is an animal. even after he almost got stuck he kept going at mancuso. i think he should have just kept on cutting him to keep takin him down but great job camp
while i agree camp is a great talent, there is a kid in nj right now that would also be a great match up on the same level as perry... that's max huntley of blair. i've gotten the opportunity to coach andrew at cadets the past 2 years and he is a fantastic kid with a lot of talent. he's been waiting for this match with mancuso for many years now and he finally got it. congrats to him and camp if you read this start getting ready for some greco buddy
This is why NJ state tournament is the best. Maybe not quite the depth of PA and OH but a better tournament. Did Louie call Camp "hot stuff" in the closing 5 seconds of this video? LOL.
to anonymous coward hating on nj wrestling...what the hell are you talking about? in case you haven't been paying attention, there happen to be two individuals named grey and winston who i think are from nj. they were pretty good if i remember, then there was that guy named matt valenti, can't really remember what he did either. There two guys don't have toooo many credentials, i guess...campo's only a dual-fargo champ in case in-state isn't good enough, and, you know, mancuso did win a state title. Go wrestle them and talk about how much they've really fallen off. Campo would hate all over meys...
i was there. and yes it was stalling
when you repeat a move 3 times and you are trying to keep them down, it is necessary to give a stalling warning.
in a 1 point match, i dont know if i would have given the point to mancouso
Thats not a good call. In order to be called for stalling you are NOT attempting to return them to the mat. Campo brought him down every time so its NOT stalling.

Not a bad match...Not sure what the guy was talking about with the conditioning thing they looked good to me....But still not the best 189's Ive seen...

Andrew is outstanding on his feet, but needs some work on top and bottom. Great match, nonetheless.
Perry beats Huntley, Huntley beats Camp
the one commentator sounds like mort goldman from family guy...oh my gawddd vinny russo you are the best hahaha
These two announcers are ridiculously annoying
who is the joe pesci wanna be announcer?
is that other guy in the background?
he talks way to much and voice is so annoying
