wasnt this the ref that screwed over luke lanno. im suprised luke didnt have him whacked

yea this ref does some wierd things but do not take anything away from him as he might be the best ref in new jersey. very consistent and makes great calls in all situations. and vinnie dellefave is a very slick, dangerous wrestler who knows where he is at all times. he rolled into the finals and got his 2nd gold medal. expect great success from this kid at RU. he will make new jersey proud at rutgers.

This is not at all surprising. Russo is not a good ref. And, what's worse, he tries to involve himself to the greatest extent possible in the matches he refs. If there's any doubt, watch a match that is close in the third period. Almost without fail, he'll start hitting the wrestler that's ahead with stalling calls. And if he can, he'll try to make the match closer, or get it to a tie. It's like clockwork. I think he must like the attention. If he ever tried that stuff in college he never be invited back to a gym.

Every time they touch each other, you start with the airplane (sometimes the one knee version). It's like some type of neurological tick. What exactly are you indicating and why? BTW, check the illustration of approval signals. Your no control and neutral (the touchdown thing you do) are both absent from the signal reference. Wow, no one in your association has called you on the overly demonstrative stuff? Really?

When there is no ambiquity as to whether they are still in neutral or someone has control, there is no need for the frantic arm extensions. In fact, no need for any indications at all. I know it is a long time habit and you probably won't change but to an experienced referee it look ridiculous. Tone it down and a bit and remember that the less noticable you are, the better job you're usually doing.

DelleFave is an great wrestler as well as a great kid.
