hey region 8 dellefave is a four time place winner...is there even 10 guys from new jersey that have accomplished that? and even if there is he was in the finals 3 out of the 4 times he placed. i know not too many wrestlers have done that.

Region 8   November 30, 2009 at 6:24pm
Dellefave top 10 of all time from Jerz?? Maybe if he wins a couple national championships in college... He is very good but only top 10 to come out of Region 6.. Saw him lose at senior nationals last year to a kid from CA who never won the state..

Some Bum   March 14, 2009 at 1:00pm
you could tell after dellefave took that first shot and duca defended it very well that dellefave wouldnt be doin anymore shooting. duca was very close to having two there. nice strategy by delle after that as he pulld through in ot.

as a huge region 6 fan and a fan of dellefave, i have to give kudos to duca for a hard fought bout with one of the best wrestlers at 119 in the nation. keep your head up joe and i will be rooting for you next year to get some redemption. continue to work hard as i feel that you may be the most dominating wrestler in new jersey, along with lawson, next year.

and i also feel that dellefave proved he was the better wrestler. a bit more conservative than usual, but a repeat champion, nevertheless. he wrestled as if the match were a chess game, trying for a takedown first period then easing his way, without stalling, to overtime and escaping in the ultimate tiebreaker. one of the greatest wrestlers to come out of new jersey (in my opinion in the top 10) and a class act as always. good luck at rutgers vinnie and hopefully there is more to come. expect a couple medals from nationals.

Unbelievable   March 10, 2009 at 12:09pm
match both great defensive wrestlers but no one was going to keep Dellefave down. What a match!!

#16
Yea If This   March 10, 2009 at 11:57am
and if that.....Dellefave clearly in my opinion won that match by great defensive technique. Tough match both great wrestlers.

Duca had went into beast mode, he would of won the match

My Poop Stinks!!!   March 9, 2009 at 6:39pm
Duca will be better college wrestler, della- fave would of had 2 stalling calls in college reffing, duca more aggressive

???   March 9, 2009 at 5:58pm
what was wrong with dellefaves technique or conditioning?

#12
I Agree   March 9, 2009 at 5:43pm
Duca looked better this match technically & and conditioning, even though the final outcome didn't show it. JMOP

Nj Beast   March 9, 2009 at 1:49pm
intense match dellefave is so technical it shows that strength isnt everything i think dellefave could compete at 125 as well and win, he only lost to cagnina 3-1 wrestling up that day

Mike Rythgin   March 9, 2009 at 1:38pm
Bothe great wrestlers...but rory, how can u say duca is clearly a better wrestler, look at dellefave's past, freshman he took 2nd soph he took third junior and senior year he took 1st. This match determined who is the better wrestler end of story

Ru Fan   March 9, 2009 at 9:34am
what balance!! Both will be good ones in college

Rory Haug   March 8, 2009 at 10:33pm
Yes, I know that re-shots and and counter attacks win matches. Duca set the pace and kept at him. Couple times dellefave could of got banged with stalling, he rarely set up in offense. I think the reason they differed in the second was to see if dellefave was gased going into the third period so that they could go neutral

Anonymous Coward   March 8, 2009 at 10:25pm
rory, the better wrestler won the match. did you watch the first period? Counter attacks and fighting off scoring opportunities is what wins at the college level.

Bootscooter   March 8, 2009 at 10:16pm
ya, but if uve ever watched dellefave he is just a defensive wrestler and hes pretty damn good at it

Duca was clearly the better wrestler, a lot more agressive.
