Ankle Picker, I'm not sure if you have had bad experiences in the past, but Athletic Trainers are absolutely trained to handle these situations. In many cases, they may refer you to a physician for more advanced care but it is unfair to label Athletic Trainers as unqualified.

I don't know about this woman but most athletic trainers are absolutely NOT TRAINED to deal with skin infections. You should see a doctor and not wrestle until it's gone if it's in an exposed area.

Eileen from MatGuard, who is also a well respected trainer nationally, talks about dealing with a skin disease once you have it. First step is go to your certified athletic trainer and or a doctor.
