Yeah Bishop got 4th. I think if Bishop is at 89 next year he will be hard to beat. Hes an aggresive very physical style wrestler. Fun to watch. Allen had a tough schedule this year??

What competition did he wrestle the whole year? He wrestled sheldon thats it. Noone even good, just a bunch of kids who dont know how to wrestle that well.
If mangum goes up hes gonna lose to bishop from allen, mangum knows he cant beat him again...hes a great staller and bishop is waaay more aggrisive than anyone in the state.
Mangum deserves that medal i've have the pleasure of wrestling alongside him as my captain he has set excellent example for me. He is one of the hardest workers i have ever seen for both wrestling and football.

I followed both of these boy's ,mangum and sheldon, both are very talented.Look at mangum , 40-1 . Mangum wrestled and beat everyone in the valley. He also wrestled and won at the Doc Hes tournment in Bryan 46 teams ,over 1,000 wrestlers. 2 180# classes . Won the championship, and the super championship.Quite an accomplishment wouldn't you say. Plus he won the got at Victoria. He's a great wrestler. He'll probably repete next year. Give credit where credit is due.

the "klein oak kids" name is nick walker. he's a great wrestler with a ton of determination, he deserved his shot at the state title, dont even try to take that away from him
it was a bad match. could of hit magnum for staling a couple of times he was walking backwords. but the other guy didnt get after it and lost it himself. congrats to magnum, but bad weight class and dont think he could do it again.

yeah sam did lose by one point because of stalling even though he took 5 shots and shelton only took one and shelton got 5th he lost to joby from allen and sam beat him
You must have not seen the match at all. It was not a headlock situation that Walker pinned him in. Walker had two nice throws in the match and only got credit for the back points on the second throw. He made it count though, Sheldon was so flat he couldn't even move. Sheldon is a great wrestler and he probably doesn't need anyone making excuses for him. He may even be a better wrestler than Walker 9 out of 10 times, but Walker made this one count.

yeah sheldon was down by 2 but it was the 2nd period. and maybe you should remember that when in on a head lock you must also have an arm am i correct?

You guys are unbelievable. That is a huge accomplishment for a kid from the Valley to win a state title and I congratulate him on his title. I just figured I could defend a couple of hard working high school kids from getting bashed on the internet by tough talking people that are setting behind a computer screen. I'm not even going to try to argue with you. I just laugh at people on here talking crap. By the way, yes I did wrestle. I probably have a better background in wrestling than most. Texas wrestling has come a long ways and with the opportunities that the kids are offered down here, it will just be a matter of time before Texas gets some respect. I know Texas is not even close to some of the other states. I'm not originally from Texas, but I have been here for a while now and the wrestling is improving all the time.

You say Walker was nervous because he had never been on the big stage before? I guess you need to be reminded that the champion was from the freakin Rio Grande Valley, a stones throw from mexico. That would be someone whos never been on the big stage before.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty sure the finalists appreciate it. I don't know how people can set and talk crap on two kids that obviously wrestled hard to get to the finals. This was not a great exciting match, but they both made it there. I know for a fact that Nick Walker from Klein Oak was nervous and had never wrestled on a stage like this and did not open up like he had in the 3 previous matches. If he had, it might have been a different outcome. Magnum wrestled well enough to win, so congratulations to him. To say Sheldon got ripped off in the semi's is not the facts. When Walker threw Sheldon to his back and got the pin, it was a legal move and both ref's conferred that it was a pin. Walker had already had two back points taken away from him on another call by the assistant ref. I do agree that Sheldon is a very talented wrestler, but to come on here and bash these two kids is not right. Congratulations to both wrestlers on making it to the finals.
